Welcome to TDP.
I love all three!
Heh I appreciate it. I do a lot of travel and street photography out here. The first is the view of the St. Charles Bridge in Prague, HDR with some light toning. The 2nd is a shot in downtown Naples touched up with Silver Efex Pro II, and the 3rd is a shot of a man dressed as Van Gogh during Carnevale 2012 in Venice, Italy. The I desaturated the background in photoshop CS5 to bring a little more attention to him due to some pretty harsh colors back there. All of these were taken with a 5D2 with the Canon 50mm f/1.4
Welocme Scott, Thanks for sharing. I really like the work you put in the 1st photo---very nice HDR: Great framing, nice detail and exposure and a well done surrealistic look. The 2nd and 3rd are coll street shots as well. I personaly like the landscape orientation of this shot, but would like to have seen just a little more of the environment/background.
Again, Welcome aboard and I look forward to seeing more of your work.
Welcome to the forum.
I am usually not a big fan of the type of processing you did in the first one, but I really like what you did with it. I keep opening it and staring at it. The compisition is great, and the clouds really help the shot. The ridged structure of the city has been softened and the softness of the clouds has been made harsh and ominous... what a great contrast. That is a first rate city scape... I hope you have more to share.
The second one is just a nice "makes you feel good" kind of shot. Some times it takes a good eye to see the special moments that take place all around us, and then to capture that feeling is even harder; but you managed to capture that feeling here.
Just my rambling thoughts, but overall very pleasing shots and processing. Thank you for sharing with us.
I really appreciate the feedback. I love the 2nd picture for that same "awww" feeling I get whenever I see it. I'm a huge fan of the "Ominous clouds over a cityscape" look. I've been shooting for a little over a year now, and I'm just trying to branch out and learn as much more as I can, especially while I'm getting the chance to travel.
