Have you taken a picture that brings out strong emotions every time you view it?

For me, it has to be the picture of my grandfather, a WWII navy veteran, that I took at his 88th birthday party this past summer.

Every time I see it, it puts a smile on my face because I can't help but remember all the great moments I've shared with him in the past 25 years of my life. At the same time though, it's really bittersweet because I can't help but think that this could be the last good picture I get of him, since I only get to see him a couple times a year due to distance. I know it's a horrible way to think, but it's the reality of the situation.

I do love how the picture came out, especially because I got the typically grumpy and stoic old man to crack a smile, and because of that loving shine in his eyes.

What about all of you guys? Do you have a picture that brings out the emotions when you view it?

This is a deeply strong picture, even if it is seen by someone who does not know what's behind.

Many memories of this summer in Scotland, and many difficulties faced during that trip (florence - scotland is a long way up).

Nice thread subject. I was wondering if you would get many takers on this thread. Not many here want to open up that much... maybe for good reason. I debated, but I will put one out there.

My son did not like having his picture taken, so I would have to sneak pictures of him. Here is one of him with a smirk on his face because he caught me sneaking a shot at Christmas. It is not a particularly good picture (especially technically), but it is his last picture at his last Christmas. He died suddenly in a car crash last year, so this picture has become the one that evokes the most emotion from me, and the one I cherish and look at the most. Please do not think I am looking for sympathy... I am not, this is just part of my story and life over the last year and a half. I am sure there are others out there.

I'll throw one out there. He was my first puppy when I first moved away from family. He got fat and old, just like me. He did grey long before me, however. I left him at the farm with my parents when we had our son. Dad said a couple of months after I left he started to become lethargic so they took him to the vet. Poor guy had cancer and passed before I got to say goodbye. I didn't take nearly as many pictures as I should have and this one is the one I remember him by the most.
