Photo DVD maker

Hello all, I'm in need of some help,

Basically all it is, is that I need to create a Photo DVD for my sons football (soccer) team from all the photo's I've taken over the past few month. Now the problem I'm having is i'm currently using ''ProShow Producer'' and I have created the PERFECT DVD "BUT" it has dropped the quality of the images and they aren't as clear or as sharp as I would like them from what they are in the originals. I have created it using a normal DVD using up approx 800mb of space on the disc.

The question is, is there a way to improve the quality of the pics on the photo DVD? Or should I invest in another program? or will they only improve if I create a Blu Ray DVD?
