Hydrophilic Filters
Tokina (Hoya?) announced a couple of years ago a filter that would a filter that was hydrophilic (if you activated in in either UV for 4 or all day in sunshine - why take it off - oh yea it is like $450!)
Has anyone used it? How might it work?
To me the alternative would be a very detailed application of something like Rain-X which begs the question if anyone has tried this?
Thoughts?

Do you mean hydrophobic? Hydrophilic is 'water loving' so it would retain a nice coating of water or other substances.
The fluorine coating on Canon newer lenses works very well. That's the stuff they use over building paint as anti-graffiti coating.
