Smooth or Tight (100-400)

I just liked these, and wanted to share...


We were trying to shoot squirrels and blue jays, but they wouldn't cooperate, so we shot each other [:)]

I thought with addition of my 70-200 2.8 IS, I'd use my 100-400 a lot less. But as great as the 70-200 is, It has made me appreciate my 100-400 a lot more. It's versatility, it's sharpness at the range are rarely much of a trade off.

I find your title misleading. It sounds like this thread is a question about the friction control ring on the 100-400.
