I love them all. Ýou definitely captured the baby's precious expression at the right moment.
Is this yours? If not, you're sure to get some money from the parents for this! [H]
Why thank you, yes, he's ours and we think he's the best thing ever. My main reason for getting my XSi to begin with was to take pics of him.
I've been waiting for someone to comment on the dual catch lights in his eyes. I'd edit them but they don't bother me enough to fool with it right now. Besides, I have Elements installed on my other computer.

Well, keep this in mind--years later, it won't matter how good the pictures actually are from a technical standpoint. You'll just be glad you have them...to look at them...and remember. Take as many as you can, as they'll only grow up once. ;-)
I just love the first one you posted so very much. The expression is what does it for me. Heart warming and cute!
The lighting in the black and white one bounced aganst the ceiling works really well *and* it creates some very nice catch lights if I may say so.
Dean, your work almost always amazes me! You rock!
These are a couple of my little guy. Taken with XTi.

Criticism is welcome. I know all of these are probably shot at too low of shutter speed, and some have slight blur because of it, but obviously they were all shot indoors and most only with available light.

A few of my favorites. I had no idea what I was doing when I took that first photo. My son was only a few weeks old, and my camera was only about a month old. I just put it in AV and crossed my fingers! At 1/20 and f2.0, I'm surprised it's not a total fuzzy mess! Comments and criticism is welcome.

Here is my wife and newborn son Mason at 1 week old. All natural light coming from the window. Taken with a 30d and tamron 17-50...don't remember the specs, as the photo is over 2years old.
Here's another one of Julia. I was really happy with the capture, especially since she's only 5-1/2 months and can't really sit up on her own yet. My wife was balancing her and then pulling her hand out of the frame while I snapped off the shots.
