I second that. I was in Paris just a few weeks ago. Such a beautiful city - A photographer's dream. I'll post one of my own favorites soon.

Re: Post your Best Travel Photo
Just thought I'd keep the Nite Time Travel Theme Going with this one.
House along the inner-coastal in Ft. Lauderdale. I'm lucky enough to have 2 twenty-something kids living in this town.
Talk about things that keep you awake at night. [:S]
It's a 3S HDR, ISO 200 f7.1 1/32 40d

Re: Post your Best Travel Photo
Wonderful, Don. I love the composition and color, and the nostalgia it makes me feel for some thing I only half remember (okay that came out a little silly sounding but I mean it, whatever it means).
The HDRness came out very even and natural-looking (unlike my attempts).
You sure take nice pictures.
But... are you sure you wouldn't have rather spent the time psychoanalyzing the camera? [:)]

Re: Post your Best Travel Photo
Just returned from the 4 Corners region of the U.S.
The following 2 were taken in Durango CO waiting for the sunrise;
General Palmer rear lobby

Durango CO alley
http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...rangoalley.jpg
This shot was my first pano attempt....taken at sunset of The Mittens and Merrick Butte in Monument Valley. I left the bottom darker on purpose because of the vehicles traveling w/their lights down....somehow just ruined the mood, i.e. envisioning John Wayne, Henry Fonda, John Ford, etc.

I "traveled" half an hour to Pittsburgh this past summer at 4:00am with a friend to shoot the sunrise from a secret location explained on Flickr. A russian security guard named "Gavick" took us up the the roof in an elevator and let us shoot the sunrise. And that is 100% true.

(The "secret spot" and Gavick have nothing to do with each other though. The spot was a corporate building's rooftop parking area. Gavick must have been working the morning shift. It just sounded so much better with "secret spot" and "Gavick" right after another with no explanation).

Heck of a shot for 1/5 sec exposure. Nice job. You didn't post specs, but did your lens have IS?

Love that picture Bombsight: the wispy clouds make the shot IMO.

Here's another. This one was taken with a P&S but there is still something about it that I really like: Calgary Tower.

Re: Post your Best Travel Photo
Sorry Chuck...they totally suck!!
Hehe no I'm just kidding! I really like the scene on the first picture, never seen such a thing in real life...(europe..) Roads that big are called highways around here [:P] Cool lights everywhere. I do see something special in the second picture, I can't really explain what, but I'm sure the owner of this business would love to have you're picture. Great commercial.
Ps: It's called post your best travel photo. At least in my case I'm not that buissy perfecting photos during my travels. Got more important things to do then, like....relaxing, enjoying etc etc [H]

Re: Post your Best Travel Photo
Better yet, I like the photos of everyone so far! The castle that Jordan shot, that's more Europe as I know it [:D]

I'm the man if you need honest critique!! [:D] It's probably in my Dutch nature to be quite hard and until now, most of the people I criticize did appreciate it...although the way I did it didn't always make happy faces [:P] Still working on that part! Had to make some excuses in the past [A] Learn that not everyone is the same as I am.
But Chuck with you...anytime mate!![H]
