While it isn't up to Joel's Cardinal standard, I took a couple of one in my back yard. I don't quite have the lovely blurred background.

These are very nice. I especially like the pose in the second one. The details are sharp and the reds look good. Nothing wrong with showing these beauties in their natural environment....good work:)
Great shots of the cardinals!
Thanks guys!

Great shot Bill.
+1 Super shot....love the perch, the look back pose and fabulous detail.....top notch!!!
We're out in Columbus, OH this weekend and I was thinking since it's a city visit, no need to bring the 400 5.6. I was very wrong. Could have used it at the lake NE of town today. This GBH had some luck finding lunch, but I had to settle for my 70-200L IS and my 1.4x TC III. And some substantial cropping.

Hey Nate,
Nice Hummingbird shot. Good to see you back.
sorry I was away for so long, I'm trying to figure out the maximum size I can post my images here, my last imge was compressed.
Hi Nate,
I think most people post here linked to someplace else. For example, I usually link here from flickr by using the BBC. But I've seen others link from several other sites, such as smugmug. I if I recall correctly the limit on image resolution is 1,000 pixels across. For direct uploads (click the picture icon between the "x" link and movie strip 4 in from the right on the quick reply screen), the file size (at least in my account) needs to be less than 194 KB.
Hope that helps,
Brant
had to belly crawl on wet grass for a couple hundred feet and got soaked but i got the shot

Great shots Stuart and Bill!
My feeders went up a little over a week ago. One is nearly empty (they are small), but I haven't seen any HB's yet.
