Bindi is so beautiful, Steve! Nice photo!!
@Steve - I love whippets! Bindi is beautiful!

I took this with the intention of turning it into a Christmas card for my girlfriend's parents (their dog, not mine)
It would make a great card. Love the warm tones.
@W349, what a great shot, your GF's parents would love this, nicely done.
@w349 - Beautiful shot, just the perfect amount of warm tones without it being overly done! Her parents are going to love it!

I wouldn't want to say that I bought an EF 85/1.8 just to take photos of my missus' sister's dog
...
so I just won't say anything at all...

#2 would have been my favourite shot ever if it weren't for the unfortunate position of the speaker in the background...
They look like paintings - great shots.
Dr Croubie - very cute pup. And as for justification on buying a lens. I can think of none finer.
Paul
@ Dr. C - What a beautiful pooch! Is it a long-haired Chihuahua? I've been practicing alot in removing unwanted backgrounds and I'm sure it can be done in PS with photo #2.
Here is a photo I took today of my Sammy. One week after bladder surgery & he is feeling alittle better every day and getting back to his old sassy self!

Didn't even notice it, the eye and tongue and cute pose held my attention. Nice.Quote:

Thanks, John! Doc says it could take another month before he is 100% back to normal but he is on the road to recovery!
Here is a shot of one of my other babies from today ...

This is one of our cats. She is called Myy. These are just quick 'test' shots taken with my brand new 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS II lens that I received today! Loving it already!!! :)

Denise, This is a great shot of Sammy, But you are seriously compromising his alpha male status by dressing him up like this:rolleyes:. Please don't show the other dogs---he could be emotionally damaged for life.
LOL! All three of my dogs are males & Lucky (my cocker above) has the same sweater on! I'm not one of those crazy ladies that puts clothes on their dogs all the time but yes when I do, they would rather run and hide under the bed rather than have the other dogs see them!!
WooHoo!! Lucky's picture above (the cocker spaniel in the red sweater) won Pet of the Month for PetMeds and they will be putting his photo on their websites in France, Germany and the UK!! I also won aŁ25/€25 discount voucher but since it is not in dollars and they don't ship to the US, I can't use it ...but it is the thought that counts!! Lucky's birthday is next week and it would have bought a nice birthday present! Congrats to me :)
Congrats Denise, well deserved. Does pay to have a supermodel as your subject though.:o
Yesterday is the first time Little Brody ever got to play in the snow.

He had a good time ...

Lovely shots Don:)
Looks like Brody enjoyed his first experience in the snow! Nice shots!
It's been alittle while since I posted a pic of Buddy. I thought it was a good photo to play around with b&W and selective color ...

Very bad lighting set-up (Sean would hang his head in shame) & poorly edited shadow elimination but oh well, I still think they are cute shots :)

Densie, I like the second--nice job and the detail and exposure of sammy's face is spot on.
Ditto here Denise, really like the second one.
Damn I wish I had a cute dog.
All i've got are chickens that get entranced by something as simple as a 40W lightbulb...

Some great portraits on this page, love that bulldog.
Here a few from inside our lounge room, the dogs obviously have the run of the place and they all love to snuggle, even when it is hot in summer. The top spot is the sheepskin rug on the top of Janelle's chair.
Bullet was first.

Bella and Leroy Brown chose to snuggle together.

And then they swapped and Bella got the top spot, as it sgould be as she is the oldest and the sweetest.

My girlfriend has been working nightshift lately, so when she's gone her cat and I have photo shoots. This is Humphrey. He is extremely lazy and overweight. He plays about once a month for about 5 minutes.

Similar story from me. My girlfriend was in work today and I had the day off. Shooting cats is kind of easy due to their inherent laziness. Here's the result.

Not as fat as Humphrey... yet.
Love the fat cat pictutres. Here is our "chubby buddy", Max.
Attachment 375
The kids use him as a real "pillow pet".

What great cat portraits I want to get a cat now too.
I don't know if my zippy little hounds would be so keen on the idea though. Here is a shot of Junko visiting us from Japan and just showing that a treat can break down the language barriers between pets and people. Didn't know my aloof stand-offish dogs spoke Japanese.

@Msix, nice light focus and composition.
Thanks, Steve. Lovin' this 135mm F2L. Wish I could keep it.
