I think he is making a list and checking it twice. Hope I
LOL!!! I think he indulged in alittle too much holiday cheer and is feeling it!!
Well, by the size of this dude I think the GB Packers could use him!
Denise
[:D] Thanks. He was bigger than most of the high school football team... while he was still in middle school. It really stands out because the rest of the photos in this album are like the following photo of my cousin. I love skipping out on fill, but the lack of backlight really ruins the photo IMHO.

did a little vignette asa well..... any thoughts on what's wrong or how to improve the shot is welcome...... I did notice that I blew out some of the details on the left side of the picture......
Recent shot from a wedding. Still not sure if weddings are where I want to head with my photography, it's very hectic but a lot of fun. Time will tell I suppose, I have a few more coming up so they might either make or break me!
5D2, 24 - 70mm f/2.8L @48mm, f/6.3, ISO 100. 1/400 sec. Plenty of photoshop. Thanks for looking, C & C welcome as always.
Cheers, Ben.

Hi Rob,
The pseudo tilt-shift blur was intentional. I guess I wanted to emphasise the centre of frame with the bouquet and their upper bodies because the foreground really didn
I agree with Rob...the rather crude emulation of tilt shift is a big distraction. If you want to emphasize the center of the frame, try adding a slight vignetting instead. A slight vignetting around the edges will help draw the eye without being terribly noticeable.
Actually now that I look at it Rob there was another reason for the blur at the bottom of frame. The bus had a flat tyre on the left side so it had a lean to it that made the shot look really akward to me. By blurring the foreground I was able to rotate the bus slightly without having to do too much cloning of the foreground to get it looking normal after the rotate. I've got a couple fo thousand photos to go through so time tends to be limited with you need to process so many. Here's a copy of the original file for reference - amazing what you can do with a "little" work in post. Thanks again.

Any advice on resizing for the forum? Both of my photos look blown out on here?
Welcome to the forum. I like the first one. The first one does not look blown out on my screen. I usually size them 150DPI in a 4x6 crop. Seems to work well for me. I started out my digital with an XT and the Sigma 24-70 f/2.8. I hated the Sigma. Mine was inconsistent focus. I replaced with the Tamron AF 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di LD and felt I got much better results. Looks like yours is working well for you.
Mark
Thanks Mark. Top photo's from 3 years ago but I actually didn't mind the Sigma. It was my pap's Rebel- I had been shooting with an EOS 1V (yep film died hard with me) and thought I'd give digi a spin. Loved it and I've recently purchased a 5D MkII with kit lens and the 135L but they're at home and I haven't gotten a chance to try them on yet but come the end of Feb... oh buddy!
Thanks again!

Thought it might scare away the locals..
Any thoughts on the school or know anyone that might have experience with it?

Not the biggest fan of the vignette on the bottom half though...I like the effect added by it (more focus on the subject), but the hair is being lost in there a bit.
But all that being said, WELL DONE! [:D]

I love shooting wide apertures in bright sunlight. :-)
Grandmother and granddaughter. This shot was noisy and soft, but I still like the way it came out after some touch up.

<p style="padding-left: 30px;"]"This was the first time in several weekends that the temperature was warm enough to shoot comfortably. While the temperature was fine, however, the wind created havac with the medium-sized softbox I was trying to use. It's positioned very close to Amber (camera right), and several times she had to reach out and hold the softbox to keep it from 1) detaching from the monolight, 2) spinning the unit around on the stand, or 3) blowing the stand over completely.
This was one of the places in Cookeville I've been contemplating for a while now. It's one of the few places that allows for a great distance between the subject and the background while allowing a full view of the sky. So where is this magnificant location? Well, it's in the back parking lot of the gas station where I typically get my fill-ups.
strobist: 1 White Lightning X2400, camera right, diffused by a Paul C. Buff 24"x36" Foldable Medium Softbox (FSB2436). Sun is providing light camera left. Strobe triggered via Cybersyncs; powered via Vagabond II. A B&W circular polarizer and a Genus ND Fader filter were used on this shot."
This shot was unusual for me because I stacked the Genus ND Fader filter on top of my B&W Circular Polarizer. It was very tricky stacking two filters that rotate freely, but I made it work. It allowed me to shoot in very bright daylight using a shallow depth of field (under my max flash sync speed) all while getting a boost in color from the CPOL.
Got it.....forgot about the Flickr deal.
You're really going portable studio!! I'm doing just the opposite. I'm trying to go more minimal. Vivitars, Cactus, couple of umbrellas. Nice and light.
I'm going to sell my AB800s and accessories.
Here's one from a wedding last year in August.

<span class="nowrap"]The Vivitars have been doing really well for me and I have to say after two years that I'm totally impressed with the way the cheap Cactus triggers have been performing. I keep a four light setup in a small gym duffle bag. I use 6V 4.5Ahlead acid batteries that always seem ready to go. The 13' light stands that I bought with the ABs are good and sturdy for umbrellas with a couple of light duty stands for additional uses. For the few gigs I've done recently it makes things really easy and fun.
