Thanks Denise. It has been an odd summer. But yesterday ended up being a good day at the beach.
Steve...ok...the Wally pic is cracking me up....:)
Mr Infinity. I would still encourage you to post fewer pictures that are so similar. Post the ones you think are the best. That said, I think the last two (which look like the same picture, I prefer the one in color) is a nice effort. I think they could be improved by making sure the entire cork face is in focus by adjusting your DOF, but you have a nicely blurred background, some nice highlights, and the back end of the cork is even blurred. So you have a clear focal point (face of cork) and have made everything more festive to create a bit of a story. A nice effort.
Another one from me just because I have a bit too much spare time at the moment. A shadow across her face that I would like to remove, but I'm not very good at that sort of thing yet.

Steve This a excellent shot of a pretty QLD country girl.[:D] Re: the shadow....[H] To me it seems very natural and who wants to chop up a face like that.
Well done mate....[Y] Keep them coming.

Steve - I think all of the shots you have posted from this fest are great! I really like the frame you put on the last one ....very fitting! This really looks like a fun event! Do just the models dress up for the fest or do some of the people in attendance also? If the attendees do, it would have been nice to see a self-portrait with you in a black leather jacket on a motorcycle w/ one of these models sitting on the back!
Very nice set!
I recently went back to the pond with the different groups of loons.
This is one of the "Latch Key Loons" (two juveniles with no parental supervision)...it looks like they have moulted their baby feathers and have a gray color now, instead of the adult black.

Nice images Brant, I like 2 and 5 the most and the head shaking in 4 and water drops are good.

Very cute picture Bouwy.....
Steve, glad you liked some of loon/turtle pics....
As many of you have probably heard, Hurricane Irene is headed along the east coast of the US and finally hitting New England on Sunday. I have seen a lot of predictions as to what it will be like where I live in Southern New Hampshire (and not far from BillW and Neuro in Massachusetts), but it is going to be close. So, I decided to take down a couple of trees today that could fall and hit the house. When I hired a guy to remove the trees....I really didn't expect him to climb them....but that is what he did, ropes tied off to the trees around him.......

That is an amazing picture Denise! I really like the different tones that flow into each other. Very nice [:D]
I think Personally I would probably clone out the water-tower or whatever it is. But again, it's a beautiful photo as it is.[Y]

Fantastic shot, Jonathan.
+1.....great picture Jonathan.........
The photos are really awe-inspiring. All I can say is great job everyone!
Breathtaking shot, Jonathan!
Thanks everyone! I quite like this thread... the images are great and really inspire me to get out as much as I can. Here's one from today: Rockbound Lake at Castle Mountain in Banff. This shot is over-polarized for sure, but I kind of like the deep blue sky (even if it's phony).

I rented the 15mm Fisheye the other weekend, I predicted it would be a bit disappointing on a 1.6x body, but fun nonetheless.

That reptile is a unique perspective! Kind of a shame about the yellow/brown edges to the leaf. I guess you could fix that if you were so inclined, though. Here's one from me.

My wife & I spend a long week end with my Son, Wife & grand daughter. Had a fantastic time touring around Sydney Harbour and capture a few good and plenty of only so so pixs and video.
This pic was taken hanging of the ferry, and trying to get the waves to look good. (trying to get that exclusive pic LOL).

Wally, That picture of the opera house brings back fond memories of my military days. I had three paychecks to spend in 7 days in Sydney and up the Northeast coast---Misson accomplished and WOW, You Aussies really know how to make a fella feel welcome- Good times every where I went---Mostly the pubs of course. Thanks for the flashback.
Bob
