But, I must say, not all of that background light is my doing. At some point in the past, someone shot some buckshot into the back of the barn. I noticed the holes and made a conscious effort to include the sunlight streaming through them in the shot.

Ade, I know you're new here, but we have rules about nudity in the forums.
Just kidding.[:P] It's a great portrait. You seem to have quite a talent for all types of photography from the various posts I've seen here today.
Thanks Andy, nice of you to say so, I'll put more up over the next few days, (newbie, all excited and that), but just finding my way around the site at the mo, (and photobucket).
She was nude from the waste down, but how could you tell with the flowers in the way ???? [:D]

Thanks for viewing. Cheers!
I rarely do portraits since my daughter hates being my practice model but she agreed on Monday that tonight we'd take a few shots at it. Little did she know we would spend the last 27 hours awake due to one family ER visit after another ...but she still held to her promise after all calmed down at home!
So for this shot ...the model isn't anymore awake than the photographer!

Very nice picture Denise. I really like the contrast in the look she has, slight smile, no expression in the mid-face (exhaustion?) and then looking off to the side. It is a very interesting looking portrait. More importantly, I hope everything is ok.

Nice shot Denise. Good post-processing, too.
Nice shots guys...
Here's a portrait I have, hard to find a good one though

@ddt0725 - Great shot Denise! The lighting and expression tells it all. I hope your family is doing alright.
@TNTPOP - Oww!!...or not so much?

Thank you, everyone! I
You got to ask my dad if it hurts ;-)
He says its like a strong pressure, as its a baby grass snake there is no harm or danger.
I have other shots but my 450D + ef-s 18-55 is not fast enough. I could do with a sharper lens and external flash.
Hey @Sean any advice on flashes? I posted a question about flashes in the gear section ;-)

Without impugning the humanity of reptiles and insects, might I suggest the Post Your Best Nature Shots thread, instead?
Reptiles and Insects have expressions too!! ...but here's a shot from a shoot last weekend. You know...just for the sake of bringing it back on topic [;)]
