Finally Got My Gitzo

That is exactly what I am hoping for and one of the reasons I went with the 3530LS.

My 40D + the BGE-2N grip and the 500 f/4L IS combo weighs 12lbs, that's 5kg! Your tripod is perfectly fine for the 7D + grip and the 500 f/4L IS combo.
