Hmmm I think there's a bit of truth in both of your analyses. There was some sort of plague of horrible fresh water dwelling insects (possible related to Sean's Aunt Edna)following both our dogs around so that may be some of it.
However, I think you'll find it's mud! Don't be fooled by those white feet - if there's mud around she'll find it, and Jack will be 3.4 steps behind.
I did a double check in DPP to check the RAW conversion and the result was very close to ACR. Good pickup though - certainly made me have a closer look after you mentioned it.

I've been following the siteand all your wonderful pictures, postsfor monthsnow. Just thought I'd chime inand say hello. I shot shorebirds and wading birds this morning. Included is a Black-necked Stilt, Tricolored Heron,couple of lively Reddish Egrets (dark and white morphs) and aSnowy Egret.
