I do admit that for many people the 100-400 is a better lens. Maybe buy both and sell the one you don't like? Anyways I very rarely find myself in a position where I'd prefer the 100-400 to a 300 f/4. Once in a long while. Others find themselves in those situations very often.

EDIT: Okay, I checked it out... Amazing shots man! I just about melted... That 300mm is definitely going to have to come off the drool list and be added to the actually going to get list... Where do you go to find all the wildlife?

You are 4 hours away from arguably the best place for songbirds in eastern Canada, Point Pelee. I don't know if it's worth it to you, but I thought I'd say that anyway....
