Autumn is a great time to get out and shot, and it looks like everyone has been doing well showcasing the fall colors.
Here are a couple from an early morning kayaking trip this morning:

Beautiful images, all.
Bob, the processing is great on that golden image. to my taste the combination of LR and Efex Pro is hard to beat. Here is one from today in our area.

Thanks Roff, I sure could have used some clouds like that this afternoon.---Nice shot
Thanks Joel, As far as the recon mission, it's about what you would expect for this time of year, no real surprises. A few cranes, a few snow geese and a few ducks, nothing in any great numbers yet. I also saw some deer that were not interested in me at all. I approached within 50 ft and they just laid there in the shade. One thing I did see in surprising numbers were the Northern Harriers---I bet I saw at least 10 different birds, or the same bird in 10 different locations.
Here is a shot of one of the resting deer. It was midday so the deer were in the shade and not planning on moving. Unfortunately, no bucks.

Isn't nature great! I love the intensity of colour in all your shots, and this year I get to join in. Normally the gales blow the leaves off our trees when they are still green, but this year I found somewhere that escaped the recent stormy weather.

Beautiful Andy!
Andy, Wonderful shots, glad to see the wind didn't blow all of the leaves off before you had a chance to capture them. The waterfalls are spectacular.
Andy - Those are beautiful shots. You live in a beautiful area, and as Bob said... those waterfalls are spectacular.
Andy...another great series...Love #3....
I have probably already posted to many in this thread, but I do like shooting during autumn. So here are couple more from yesterday (shot from a kayak)

Andy, I really like "Autumn Reflections". And not just because you called it Autumn ;)
Although, where was the sun during the shot? I can't help but think the colours are lacking the punch of the shot above it.
Nothing says Autumn to me like some fungi... I might have to go on a mushroom hunting mission soon...
Thanks for the comments everyone.
Ham, the sun was partly obscured by cloud around the hills to my left when I took the "reflections" shot, so the lighting is more diffuse than I would have liked.
Pat, I wish I lived in an area like this, but these shots are all 3-4 hours from home.
Amicalola falls. My only worthwhile fall colors photo for this season. Plus I had to post waterfall shots in as many threads as possible:p

That is a beauty Nick.
Hey guys. Been away from the site for a loooooong time! Been busy shooting! (I now have three regular commercial clients!)
Here's my.. Well.. Photo of the aftermath of the fall colors here. I was sad, it's kind of a sad photo, so it kinda works!
It was a really heavy overcast, very gloomy.
Not sure which method will work best from my ipad, so ill upload and use a URL.Attachment 1518

Good to see you again. Very nice re-entry.
Hope you are ok and the sadness didn't last too long
And here is a last photo of the fall colors in our area (Maryland) as Sandy is about to hit and blow it all away.

Beautiful shot, Larry! To you and everyone in Sandy's path ....stay safe! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your loved ones!!
I didn't take too many shots this fall but here is one I was able to capture a few days ago ...

Beautiful autumn day! by Denise Trocio ( www.dtrociophotography.com), on Flickr
Nice Autumn leaves and love that starburst Denise. So many great shots from the rest. Here is an HDR I grabbed this morning. I waited a little to long to get out there so the light wasn't quite right, but I gave it a shot anyway:
Taken from the farm loop at The Bosque del Apache, NM

Here is another one, I tried a Vignette because the photo needed something--but im still not sure I like it.
http://rwilliamsimaging.com/img/s11/...27842010-4.jpg
Thank you! The starburst is the real deal! It was somewhat windy so I had to keep swaying with the branches to try and get the sun positioned between them perfectly to get the rays just right. The only thing done in pp was lightening the shadows on some of the leaves. The polarizer filter was a lot of help also.
Bob, those shots are beauitful ...love the first one!
I thought it'd be a piece of cake shooting monkeys in the autumn leaves, but you realise how well animals mimic natures backgrounds when you see tones and colours in an animal that are exactly the same as those on the ground

a brief respite from the rain in Sunriver, OR, gave me the chance to get a great shot of the Aspens, even if the wind was blowing something fierce. 7d, 17-40L

Most of the leaves have left the trees but the bushes in my yard are starting to peak with beautiful fall color ...

Fall Colors by Denise Trocio ( www.dtrociophotography.com), on Flickr
Thank you so much, Bob! We have been getting some light frost overnight so I was lucky enough to catch this early enough in the morning as the temps just started to rise. These bushes produce beautiful flowers in the summer and great autumn colors in November.
You have a knack for taking something simple and making it very beautiful. Most people look at a simple leaf and take it for granted... they look right past it. You take that same simple leaf and transform it to show off the natural beauty that is inherent within it.
Very well done.
