An oldie here, but a goodie.
The squirrel holds court.

Wow, John. That 600 is sharp!
I've never seen a squirrel like that one.
I think it is called a variegated squirrel, apparently common in South America (maybe other places too, but first time I had seen one).

Well, I'm somewhat ashamed to admit my #1 viewed Flickr picture is that of a squirrel using the wife's 6D.

Thanks for viewing.

The score just went up ...
nice shot, it really looks like "so cooold"
Got this shot while testing my new 100L Macro lens on Christmas day. I wish we had a little snow falling like in Dave's picture.

I like the pose, Eric. I wonder if the squirrel species is different in Maryland than northern Illinois? Was the guy you photographed kind of small?
Dave
This is right under our bird feeder, so they all have the same pose :D. Here is one from March 2012, he looks slightly larger than the first. Different lens, but the feeder poles look close in size between the two.

Easter Gray Squirrel is what we have here. I think they can get to 20 inches (with tail) and 1.5 pounds.
Here's one of my backyard bird food raiders, scoping the feeder from long range. Taken with 1DX + 500mm + 2X TC.

I struggled to get a clear shot of this red squirrel high up in a pine tree. It eventually plucked up the courage to come down to ground level just a few feet in front of me.

Very nice squirrel shot. I like the DOF and bokeh.
This thread has been dormant for a little while. I finally caught this guy in the act.

I had forgotten about this particular thread...
Nice captures of these PITAs (although they are very entertaining) Joel and Stuart.

I happened to see this squirrel run across the yard while shooting hummingbird pics. I could tell it had something unusual in it's mouth. I think it may be a new born but I have never seen a squirrel do this before.

The storm last night blew my bird seed off my feeder. Not everyone was unhappy about this.....

Love the surroundings in this one .... reviving an old thread, nice;)
I have a large number of furry critters trying to steal bird seed .... they are very bold too.
This one sat still maybe 20 feet from me while I was waving my hands and trying to scare him away from my bird set up
