It won't be long until I'll have bought a car and won't experience something again. Something that's been a part of my life for quite some time now: commuting by train.
To "commemorate" it I'm trying to collate my favourite railway/station based images into a small album.
Here it is so far:

Please let me know what you think.
Stay on the train.
The environment needs you.
We need you.
To stay on the train.:)
Great series of shots, intimate, touching and emotional.
Nice work, Darren.
As I said on G+:
I wish it was possible, Steve. My wallet would rather I stayed on the train too, but we have to move out of the City Centre, making public transport less viable.
Thanks for the compliment though, I'll find something else to shoot ;-)
Wow, some great shots here. Ham, your images and galleries are fantastic. I live just outside of Washington, DC and spent over 30 years working in the city. I love to head into the city looking for non-traditional shots of the people in the city. I have an intermittent project to show images of it here.
And here are a couple of favorites.

Two excellent modern street shots TheRoff. Very nice. And thanks for your comments about mine.
I've added another couple to my railway series I've called Train of Thought

ham, great stuff! Are we going to see your landscape pictures soon when you get the car? Whatever it is, do share please.
Larry, you should post more in here.
Many car images I have seen here were shot with wide angel lenses, but sun was setting and the fastest lens I ha around was 85mm. Plus I wanted to try it out. This guy and his track happened to be around:

Ham--keep them coming...always interesting
Mark---great captures...
I was in Birmingham a week ago and there were protests against that anti-Islam film. Without knowing anything about it, I decided to stick around and try my hand at documenting it:

is the album. Please feel free to have a look and tell me what you think.
Double post,
I've got some more Train Images for you all:

Actually had a chance to take the "proper" camera out on Friday.
Unfortunately, I'd recently lent it to my brother, a beginner, and had set it up for him to use. Whilst I remembered to set the obvious things back, I forgot to put it back into RAW... so here are some JPEGs which, I must say, I was impressed with. You do still have a fair amount of wiggle room with the highlights, the only problems I really had were that Lightroom won't do lens corrections for the 15-85mm in JPEG, and colours are a bit more difficult to play with.

good stuff Darren,
especially like the third. The first one could also be great in portrait orientation on the girl only.
The thing with the setting: Happens to me all the time, even if I don't lend it to anyone :( I'd really like some C settings
Time to bump this thread.

Darren,
I have seen that picture with the slight hint of a face in the motion blur on your g+ when you first posted it, and it just doesn't get old - still fascinating
Arnt and Darren....all excellent shots....
My first post in this thread. I'm too self conscious to try street photography at home, but somehow it's easier on holiday.

I guess you can consider this a street shot even though it was taken under the street. I took this while we were in DC for a anniversary trip. This is the Metro station at DuPont Circle.

Took this shot many moons ago in Gent Belgium. A perfect example of a stuffed up lens set up, and yes I know, I should've used AUTO. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3834/9...92cf1794_c.jpg
