David this is a big improvement in my opinion. I like them both. A border might pull the image together seeing the sky is white and just bleeds off on the white web page. Now I have just about seen enough selective color to last me a life time,

5 stars for that formula... I say you make it a theorem!

Now that I have photos off my corrupt external hard drive, I have alot to sort thru!
Nice soft lighting, matches the vignette and soft edges.
My eyes are that colour. Not as pretty or clear though. :)

I like all these but my favorite is the second to last shot. It looks like a zoom shot but it can
Thanks! You were close! We were on a moving walkway, basically a horizontal escalator.
Another from Greazefest, cute couple. The wind really whistles through their ears.

Very nice shots, Sean & Steve!
Steve - Your lighting is perfect ...were all of your shots done with just natural light?
Yes Denise natural light, it was glarey winter's midday and these pasty skinned people look like they have a few extra lights trained upon them, but they don't. The car shots from the day were a little blown out as I only had a polarizer on the lens.
The models at this event don't get out in the sun very much, as shown below in an example below, one for the ladies.

Cropped a bit, are we OK with swimwear on this site?
Cheers,
Steve
@Sean - love the soft skin tone. great lighting!
@Steve - ....Wow! haha
Here's one from the engagement shoot this past weekend :)

TakahiroW4047 - Impressive dynamic range. Did you process separately for the highlights and shadows?
@w349 - This is a single image shot : ) The way the sun is angled, the subjects and the tree lines behind them are both partially "shadowed". So apart from minor luminance adjustments in the "green" and "yellow" range, I was able to keep the blowouts to a minimum!
Welcome back, Americo. IMO, you still need to work on focus - in the shot above, the region of critical focus is on the her hair on the other side of her face. Ideally, you want the eyes in focus if nothing else. In this case, the makeup applicator would also work as a focal point. A few strands of hair in the background just doesn't work as a focal point, for me.

Here is one from a shoot I did last night. She is going to be a senior in high school. I'm starting to use my 50mm f/1.8 for almost all of my portraits and now I really want the 50mm f/1.2! ( but I think I will have to settle with the 1.4 )
T2i + 50mm f/1.8
f/2.8 - ISO 100 - 1/500
Natural light, I used a shoot through umbrella as a diffuser. And now that I think about it, I also used a reflector in this shot.

Wonderful portraits.. I haven't been much around though I would like to share one of my favorite shots. It was an experimental thing. Would you be able to discern how many lights was used in this shot? :)

@Baker - Great shot!! The focus on the eye is perfect : ) I just recently upgraded my 50mm f/1.8 with the f/1.4. There
AnGelo, I'm not a strobist so I'm out of my depth here. But I'm guessing 3 maybe four lights. My reasons would be the catch lights in the eyes, the exposure on the skin and the highlights in the hair (and the background). Yet all this could possibly be done with one cleverly reflected light - I think.
@ Baker, Wow. That shot just makes me want to put my 50 1.8 back on my camera. Very professional looking shot!
Thanks for the kind words =)
Here is another shot from the shoot.
Natural light - T2i + 50mm f/1.8 - ISO 100 - f/3.2 - 1/250

@Baker, Both are Awesome shots! It just goes to show that the photographer is more important than the equipment.
Rich
Baker - Your shots are fantastic! I think another important issue here is that the photogher and model connect and work beautifully together. You obviously have a way of making her feel very relaxed in front of the camera! Very nice!

Pro shots Baker! You have a very good eye for composition IMO and capture so much mood in your shots. There is a great "comfortable-ness" about them. Awesome lighting too!
@AnGelo: great capture, good pose and good lighting.

I agree. Baker's got that such feeling of comfort in the photos and that golden touch.Quote:
