Sunset tonight in Canmore, Alberta. A nice topper to a fine day --- I was able to go out mountain biking earlier in the day (my other obsession).
Canon 5D2, 24-70 f/2.8 lens, 2-stop hard edge grad and 5-stop solid ND, 10 sec @ f/16, ISO 100

Some great shots here recently. I particularly like the long exposure shots with the ND filters.
It's been a cold, wet and windy April in Scotland. It's still cold enough for fresh snow on the mountains. Here's a shot from yesterday's hike in the Cairngorm mountains. I used a 2-stop grad ND filter to recover the highlight detail in this shot.

Thanks everyone... this has definitely become my favourite thread, with a great array of inspiring photos. Franco that Crater Lake shot is excellent. I checked out your blog and your Flickr site -- you've got quite an eye and very good technical skills to boot. Pat I like that second shot the best... the small stream flowing into the vast lake, overseen by a dynamic sky, really strikes a chord. I found myself staring at it for quite a while.
Hi, Tuesday evening I had a couple of hours on my own and took the opportunity to bring the camera to a typical Swedish lake a few kilometers from my home. This is a place I go now and then for swimming (when the sea is too cold), photography, fishing or just some peace & quiet. This was an evening with almost no wind which may look nice, but those of you who experienced still evenings by lakes know what that means - billions of mosquitoes. I choose to see it from the bright side: Summer is here!
