This is a 20 image stack using Zerene Stacker software (which is very easy to use BTW)

Awesome shot, Joel. Do you use a DoF calculator to determine the distance of each focus movement for your stacks or do you just wing it?
Cool. I'll have to try that.
Great looking flowers Mark!
Nice stack work on the spider Joel!

Been a while, not my best but worth showing. Pretty cool looking little Gecko. Not a lot of time to do this stuff anymore.

Thanks jrw! That looks like some crazy ice you have there. Glad all we received was snow. I've had enough of the ice storms this year.
Nice looking gecko. That guy is tiny!
Macro lenses really show off detail that's even hard to see with the necked eye. My thumb has a lot of wrinkles. This guy was one of the monster sized geckos around my house and even in my house.
Give the thread a little bump. Some of these were in the weekly themes.

This is a different angle than the one I posted in the image of the week post.

And a little bit of melting on this one.

After seeing Jayson's wonderful snowflake shots, I wanted to find a smooth, dark background free from the fibers found on gloves or mittens. Joel, I know that you often have lovely backgrounds that are 'free' - forest, field, etc, but I spare no expense for my hobby. Accordingly, the smooth, dark background for my snowflake shots cost over $30,000.

In all fairness, I should point out that this particular background just might have a few other uses, such as transporting three kids in their car seats. :p
I just brushed off the glass, waited for attractive snowflakes to land on it, and shot the pictures (handheld) before they slid down off the glass.
Great snowflakes John! The background looks very nice indeed. You must have been snapping fast with a warm car or they would have melted...unless you left your car outside on purpose.;) I am going back to taking photos on glass to get the nice clean background.
2 points to John for most creative dual use of a prop
Here is a new snowflake from the most recent storm. I sure wish it wasn't so dry. I only had about an hour of shooting before the snowflakes weren't recognizable. I took John's advice and tried a better background. This is a 12 shot stack.

Nice!!!
A little too much moisture on the latest round of flakes. Ever wonder what those ice pellets look like up close?

Sean, sorry it took me so long to respond. Missed the question. Since I'm lazy, I'm going to just post a link to the write up I put on my blog. If you want to go there it gives what I do. Pretty simple. I held this weed in my hand and then shot the photos.

It has been a while since I have posted a Macro shot. So here is one from this weekend - Baby Robins. I wish I would have gotten the slit in the eye in better focus, but I just snapped a few shots and got away.

Pat, I have a lovely nest in my front porch that I get to look at every day. Crazy how fast these guys grow. I missed 4 days and they have feathers and barely fit in there. Mommy must be feeding them worms laced with steroids.
Here is a trip to the backyard photo. This is a 7 shot stack of a what I believe to be a baby hover fly.

Here is a size view of him digging into a dandelion. Not the best picture, but there for scale. I was trying to get them having a snack but the dog kept trying to lick my face and apparently that scares tiny flies.

Found this big red ant on the mouth of a gatorade bottle.....not sure what it is really? It was hard to get a shot in focus because he kept going around and around the bottle top:)
