Mark,
That is absolutely adorable!
I love it!
Rich
Agreed, great shot Mark.
Steve
Yep, that
Wonderful photo, MarK!!

I'm especially proud of these ones, but for my own reasons. There were "better" shots taken from the day that incorporated fall colors, a strikingly red tree, etc.. but these were my first attempt at back-lit portraits.. and surprisingly my first time ever shooting in AV mode in the almost nine months I've had my 7D. I'm super proud of the keeper rate with this session.

Rocco - great set!!!
Can
Yep nice work Rocco, interesting earings on your model.
Rocco - I agree with the previous speakers, great portraits! No. 2 is my favorite but all four are good. After reading Steves comment I had to go back and look for earrings. How could I avoid noticing them?
Thanks guys! The earrings were hand carved and very ornate, loved them. I'm completely hooked on back lit portraits now, and will forever look for a good opportunity when out shooting.
Had another session today (super busy month for me!). This little boy, to the dismay of his mother, climbed a tree and refused to come down. So of course I climbed a neighboring tree and started playing with him. She was madder than hell, until I let her look at the back of my camera. I think she had more of a traditional portrait in mind, but this of course is more interesting. As she said, they exactly represent who he is. :)

Mark beautiful pictures, and super kids. Congratulation!!!
Oh wow. Nicely done Mark!
Great and wonderful photos since I've last visited this community. Been out of the loop from photography lately and here's my latest from over the weekend.
I just loved the ambient light as back light and a reflector as main light.

Thank you Mark. I love the photo of your kids. Did you do that in a studio? What did you use for the black background?

Great work Mark and thanks for the tip. I think it

Great photo Gian. It makes me wonder what she's thinking about. Nice and sensual shot, I like it!
Jan
Great shot Gian.
Wally
Gian, Great use of lighting and negative space, The model is gorgeous as is the pose and her expression. The only criticism I would have is maybe the over the top post processing---I am not a real fan of the " porcelain doll" look---But that is up to the individual viewer---
Again, Beautiful shot
Please keep them coming.
Gian, excellent work. I really like the feel of the shot you got with your post processing. As Bob said though, that
Beautiful portrait of a beautiful girl Gian. I really like the composition and the clothing on the ground adds a lot of interest.
On a technical point, when the model is right of frame and the lighting is on the same side, should the negative space be on the RHS as well? I mean should she be looking in to the image or out of the image in this case?
I know with birds and animals it is preferred to have more open or negative space of the image in the direction the bird is looking.
Having said all that, I wish I had taken this shot, it is beautiful.

I don't have any experience shooting models, and I absolutely love this shot. I'm not sure if I have a critique or an observation, but my eye expects her skin on her right brea*st to be a little darker or have a slight shadow in relation to the light between her elbows.
Beautiful Shot!

Had a photo shoot today. The weather turned bad. Very overcast and winds over 20mph. Was unable to use the umbrella I brought. Had to use high ISO and low shutter.

Thank you all for you comments, they are very useful to improve.Richard I agree that the skin in this photo is very smooth, may be too much, while the light is passing through the arms naturally.
Steve, thank you for the comment, I like to have the composition with the sight on the close side when the mood is thinking or sad. In this way I feel she is looking in her mind and not in the frame.
This are another couple of shots.

Thanks for the explanation Gian, I understand your thinking and it really works well.
Love the tones in the first image above.
The low key B&W above has beautiful lighting, a very intimate image, feels like the viewer is invited to share her thoughts, or wish they were. One of your best and I think my favaourite.

Hmmm, my photo didn
Dr Croubie: Gian, absolutely beautiful, as always, managed to check out the gallery as well, great!. Wish I knew how to convince beautiful women to pose like that...>..I find it very hard to find beautiful women...let alone pose for me...than again I

Gian (and I'm being serious now) these are great portraits. Perfect lighting and well controlled exposure for the mood you want to convey.
