At freelance,
Used my 60D, DxO does an awesome job on noise reduction. I think you should try the demo version to see what you think.
At jake,
I just googled "Lacewing" and it sure looks like the right bug.
I forgot to mention, I also used the built in camera flash. It works better than my big Minolta 360 PX flash, closer to the axis of the lens.
Cheers,
John.

Those snake pictures are pretty awesome. I am personally not a huge fan of snakes but you have the shots dead on. Great work.
That leafbug is something that I have only seen on some of the other forums I frequent, but never in real life. Great catch on a very tough bug to spot.
John, nice lacewing. I never can catch up to those guys. Guess I should try to get out in the morning a little more often when they aren't as quick to fly away. Love the exposure and lighting, especially since it was the built in flash. I can never use that since I have the hoods on all the time. Nice capture.
I followed this guy around for about a 1/2 hour and he wouldn't land on any flowers in the area. I decided to hop in the car and take off. When exiting the park, this guy landed on the side of the road and started sucking on rocks. Don't understand the thinking of eating rocks instead of nectar but I decided to snap a couple of shots anyway.

And a crop since I clipped off the top of the wings.

Got to have the pictures hosted somewhere or they will vanish. Its only a matter of time.
??? That comment directed toward someone or on a different thread???
When I wrote my comment none of the pictures where showing up on the page. The only sure fire way to have them not disappear is to link to a pic from a different site until there is a fix.
Ah, Gotcha. I wasn't sure what was going on. [:D]
