Canon Rebel XS with Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 @ f/8, 1/100 sec, ISO 200. Canon 430EXII at 1/4 power bare subject right rear zoomed out to 50mm. Kodak P20 at 1/4 power bare subject left rear zoomed out to 50mm. Both triggered by Yong-Nuo CTR-301Ps. ALMOST SOOC! + .5 EV in DPP.
Version without the lens flare. I still prefer the version with flare and less vibrant colors. What do you think?

is that a taylor big baby?
Yes it is. For a recent Taylor photo contest. Unfortunately, I did not win. :(
Sean, sorry for going all the way back to page 1, but like everyone else has said, I applaud your lighting techniques. Your photos always look fantastic!
Here are my boring two shots.

I fooled around with the first one to make me look like a Terminator. My 7 yr old daughter is terrified of it.
oddly enough I dont have many photos of myself. I suppose its because I almost never let anyone use any of my equipment.
Hmmm this is a really interesting thread!! [:)]
I'm currently doing a Project 365 on Flickr where you take a self-portrait everyday. Here are some of my recents!!

Takahiro if you had Blondish hair you would look like Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys in that second shot lol....Good self portraits. That one I took and turned B&W is one of only a very few I have ever done.

Self-portraits are so difficult at f/2.0!!! Trial and error. Trial and error. Needed a new picture after getting back from shooting today at San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary (Will upload those pictures later). This is it! Got inspiration from this photo.. Saw this photo months ago and have been wanting to mimic its technique. Glad I finally did it.
This is the edit to the original. I just adjusted the shadows in DPP a little. I brought them back down -3. The original is a bit washed out from the rim light strobes. I am not sure 100% which I like better. I am a fan of both, but it depends on the situation where I like it more.
Hands up to you [:#]
Your creativeness is second to none, Powers Brent.
Great shot!!
Haha I was always thinking Sean made quite some self-portraits, but I get a feeling he'll be number two nowadays [:P] I'm very curious how your photoyearbook will look like at the end of the year [:D]
I didn't take this myself, but it's a photo of me nonetheless.

Here is a shot of Mason and I in Yosemite(wife took the picture). It was the last week in May, and it was snowing. Mason and our dog Rajah were LOVING the snow.

I used a White Lightning X2400 diffused by a 60" Softlighter (camera left) for my mainlight. I used a Fader ND Mark II on my 50mm f/1.4 to obtain an f/2 aperture below my flash sync speed.

All the materials to build the house were carried across this bridge.
9 exposures merged with HDR Darkroom.

What does this have to do with pics of yourself other than you carried allot of lumber across it ????
Yeah, philip, we have a "Post your best HDR" thread (I think), and that image would probably be more suited for it... :-)

Canon 50D with Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 @ f/8, ISO 100, 1/200 sec
Kodak P20 Flash @ 1/4? power shot thru subject right and Canon 430EXII at 1/8? power subject right rear (most of the rim light fell on the wall with a tiny bit hitting my ear.)
Another one of me doing what I always do. Point, go cross eyed, and put my lips together weird. But nonetheless I am loving my new 50D!
This shot was taken at the &quot; The Scary Dairy.&quot; It &quot;is an old dairy farm adjacent to the former Camarillo State Mental Hospital, now California State University, Channel Islands. It was run and maintained by the staff and patients of the hospital as a form of work experience and additional income to the hospital. In the mid-1900's (around the 1960's) the dairy was closed and the buildings fell into disarray and have since been heavily vandalized. (<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scary_dairy" rel="nofollow">wikipedia link</a>)
I was in the area after dropping by my uncles to pick up a bed. There is parking off the side of the main entrance road to CSU Channel Island at a dirt lot that says &quot;Camarillo Regonal Park.&quot; Park there and walk (or ride a bike like I did) along the path always staying to the right at all forks. It is about three minutes in by bike and about ten minutes in walking. The buildings have such an ominous feeling to them ecspecially if you go toward night time. The walls of the buildings are covered with graffitti. Makes a nice colorful background for pictures. While I was doing some shots I stood myself up on my hands and got a piece of glass in my finger.
Alright that's all folks. Buh bye now!

I did something a little different with this one. The overlay of wooden planks is actually a picture of the floor right below me.

I've never posted in here before. I always cringed at the self-portrait thing but I had to supply pics for a blog article about me so I figured I'd post them here too.

The shoes are a funny story. I totally did a chic thing, I saw the shoes and then bought the suit to match. I couldn't help myself.
