Rocco,

I did find the require email for verification option and enabled that as well. I'm open to other suggestions on how to control the spam.
Thanks!

Bryan - I use vBulletin too and I finally added question answer verification. Something simple usually does the trick at least for Bots. Give it a try if you like.

DoggieDoc - Thanks for your suggestion. I that a vBulletin built-in option?
Bryan it is. In the Admin Control Panel select Settings->Human Verification Manager. Then chose •Question & Answer Verification and Save. Then you should be able to add questions and answers in the frame below.
Hope this helps.
Paul
Thanks Paul - I'll give that idea some consideration.
One caveat is you have to provide "every" possible answer unless you use the "match regular expression" option. This requires a little more "know how". I feel simple questions do the trick of fooling the bots fine.

Got it - thanks Paul!
OK - The spam is getting crazy. I changed the human verification to Q&A. We'll soon find out if it is effective, I'm sure. :)
Is anyone having trouble sending and/or receiving PMs? I have one such problem report - receiving is the problem for this person.
Sending you a pm now. You can reply if you'd like.
Rocco - Got it - and replied.
Yes I'm having problems contacting "cls". Could it be that his PM settings are set wrong or are corrupt?
Is it perhaps an option to enable PM contact by any member as a default setting? I personally cannot think of why you don't want to receive PM's. I don't see any privacy issue for example. And if you really don't want to receive any, there's always the option to set it off. That would be more logical to me.
I checked all the PM settings several times and everything should be OK - as far as I can see I have no "privacy" settings activated.
It's a long shot, but could the signature be a problem? Many years ago I remember had to choose another signature in some login process - "cls" was a reserved word and wasn't approved as a signature. (Those of us who had computers long ago without any windows whatsoever recognize the signature as an acronym for "clear screen".)
