Thanks guys, there are quite are few photo ops here at the moment including these.
Sometimes it pays to be careful and have some back-up with you when you take on a blue eyed ninja assassin kitten. Two should be enough to handle a 12 week old, shouldn't it?

I thought you had him, if you want something done, you have to do it yourself, come back here, you...
Attachment 592
Oh oohh, a little help here please. Umm somebody. This isn't going to end well...

Sometimes it's not about the size of the dog in the fight, cause Bo the ninja assassin kitten will kick their......

All plans are off. The cat is ruling the house at the moment. It is still an inside cat, we have taken it outside just to run through the garden, supervised. But he has worked out how to go through the doggy door, so now we have to lock that to keep him inside.
Life was so much easier without Bo, his cuteness factor does not work with my wife at all anymore.
I'm in trouble.
This cat could be possessed.
He is watching me while I type this.
We have a new kitten also, a few months ago now. She helps me at the computer all the time. Chasing the courser around the screen and biting my mouse clicking finger.:)
Thank you! They are my favorite balloon shapes that day.
A mountain of corn for corn flakes, corn bread, corn cake, corn syrup, and more corn products. :D
Thank you!
Well, that spooked the dog.... meowrrrr.... ;)
Nice series Mark.
+1 on the that.
Thanks guys. Just trying to get the hang of sunsets. Not too hard using the 24-105 with a 0.9 ND filter and a CPL. But the 8mm fisheye obviously won't take a filter, so the sunset gets blown out a bit. I love the huge DOF the fisheye gives, though.
Nice job on the sunsets Mark, let's see what the 7D does.
A few shots from a wander around Brisbane city.

The Treasury Casino buildinga heritage building from the outside, that is now home for the casino, I don't like it inside, as it looks very temporary as they were not allowed to touch the heritage listed interior. Which is a good thing, but there is a feeling that someone is about to run through screaming "cops" and everyone will drop what they are doing and run out. Not a fan of this place, but it is impressive from the outside.

@M_Six: That is a really beautiful series. Can't decide if I like no.1 "spooky tree" or no. 4 "lit stone" best.
@Steve U: That building in that light has a British "Harry Potterish" feel to it. I wouldn't have guessed Australian casino.
I also wanted to share some photos from the weekend when I spent a couple of hours by the sea. Last week we had really warm weather (for the season) and most of the snow and ice melted rapidly. Some ice survived though, and makes various cool patterns/sculptures.

I go here rather frequently but this time was actually the first time my daughter came with me (seems as if she has a growing interest). It looks like she’s capturing the splashing waves.

Maybe she came up with something like this.

This place is crowded with the usual sea-birds, mostly mallards, gulls and swans. I seem to have a thing for swans (lots of swan photos in my archives), but hardly any gull photos. This time though, I took a few gull portraits since they were posing nicely for the camera.

thanks for looking
@cls - That is awesome that your daughter is starting to be your photography buddy! My daughter goes with me many times on the trails and has yet to pick up a dslr but she does like bringing the p&s and sometimes comes up with better compositon than me! Makes for great bonding times!!
Well, I'm still doing some tabletop photography, practicing lighting set-up (playing with some new toys) and seeing which background colors & materials work and don't work (fabrics, foam boards, etc.) and trying various pp pre-sets.
Flowers are fading fast so I thought I would use them for props for one last day ...

@cls - Great shots. Very colorful. And that BIF shot is perfect.
Nice shots, Denise. Getting your money's worth out of those blooms.
Thanks! These did last for quite awhile ...$ well spent!
But their full beauty is starting to fade ...

^^^^Love the PP in that one. Well done.
Thanks, Mark! That is alittle out of the ordinary for me and I didn't like it much at first but now it has become one of my favorites.
I like that last one as well Denise, would you explain what you did and the set up for this shot please?
Thanks, Steve!
I took a number of different shots so I'm not sure on specific flash settings, etc. I did use my Sigma 85mm and my 580ex II flash on my Manfrotto super clamp & arm at camera right with a stofen omi-bounce diffuser. I laid the flower on one of the square pieces of textured glass that I picked up at the hobby store yesterday. The textured glass works great and comes in lots of different textures and colors @ $5 a square.
In post I used two textured overlays from PhotoTools 2.6 Professional, Grunge Vignette and Wrinkles both set at 90%. That was pretty much it.
Denise
Textured glass, that's cool, well done and nice effect with the overlays too. Thanks for the insight.
I took this one during a snow storm we had about a week ago. Taken with 60D, 135L @ f/5.6, 1/250 second, ISO 250, using a LumoPro LP-160 flash.
I can't seem to figure out how to post flickr pictures the right way, but figured out this way to do it...

A lot of nice shots lately.
I have been a out of touch lately and finally got a few days off to go up to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (a beautiful place). A fair bit of snow fell while there... here area couple from this week (sorry I am not very good at sorting - so I ended up posting 2 simular):

Denise,
How do you post the Flickr links? I tried clicking all of the different share options on Flickr and couldn't get any of them to work.
Dave
When you click "Share" go the the drop down tab for "Grab the HTML/BBCode" and make sure that BBCode is selected and not HTML. Also, Medium 640 works for the size. Then copy the entire code in the box and just paste it directly in the reply box of the thread you are entering it in.
Flaky white stuff. Thought we'd seen the last of it this year.

Whatever you did Steve, I like it.
In another week my commute home will be an hour before sunset, so I'll finally make it home without stopping to shoot. I keep telling myself to ignore the sunset and drive, but every day Mother Nature puts on an irresistible show.

Very nice! Everyday it told you to shoot it and now you finally gave in. I'm glad you gave in and able to share your scenery on your way home. TFS!
Here's what I shot over the weekend:
Cheers!
I went on a photowalk with a few people who I've met on G+ on Saturday. Here's the full album if you're interested:

Lovely colours and contrast Angelo.
Really like those purple hues mark.
Love that B&W Ham, framing and composition very good. I bet she wouldn't walk alone in Liverpool.
It's not advisable for anyone to walk alone in Liverpool... where do you think the song came from?
Great photos on this page....
Mark...well worth the stop....great sunset and the power lines really catch my eye....
AnGelo...really like the colors and the multiple water drops. Very nice.
Ham...both are very nicely done.
Thanks, folks. No sunset tonight due to clouds, but the view to the east was pretty nice.

Nice set of photos ham!
Thank you Steve U and Kayaker72. This would have been much crisper if I got my hands on some good macro lens. ;)
That's a great view Mark! I love the composition -- the lines and balance on the photo are very nice!
Beautiful photo, Mark! The composition is perfect!
Today is was 60 degrees and sunny and sort of a wierd outdoor shooting kind of day. I went to the front yard and took shots of the only flowers that have bloomed so far in my garden ...
