Have to admit I hadn't thought of zuiko as a lens option - I like the smaller size
IMHO image quality looks pretty good! The size is a bonus too. This is definitely a higher end gear forum and the little 28 f/3.5 is not going to fill in for the top of the line and modern Canons for very many people, but I personally like it. IQ looks good, I find it fun to use, and it is so inexpensive you don't have to worry about it.
Dave
Dave, I quite agree with your point on high end, though with all the stuff going on in imaging I am starting to question my own version of "high end."
A few days ago I offered up the idea of an airplane's flight envelope to be used when looking at the capabilities of a camera. A Cessna 172 isn't going to go supersonic no matter how steep the dive and a 5dIII isn't going to hit 12 fps either :). Then again the Air Force really does frown on taking one of their f-18's stuffing a duffle bag in it and heading off for a weekend jaunt - the 172 carries a lot more inside the cabin anyway. :). Try as I might that 1dx just isn't going in my jacket pocket like the M w/ the 22mm either.
As that as a context, and long long ago one of my first discussions was bit depth, pixel size and it was clear there are some on this site that have forgotten more about the physics of this than I will ever know... :). Sort of what is the ultimate driver of IQ.
I think the zuiko shots look darn good. I have done one wall size enlargement - a 9 image babbling river stitch for my wife's office. The IQ of was driven by the number of frames vs. absolute resolution of 1.
All of this to come back to what is my personal "imaging envelope" needs. I would like to see the M2 come out soon with the dual pixel sensor. And then I could see myself "dialing back" to APC 70d & M2 and being quite happy w/ the IQ, capabilities, size, etc, etc. This would be particularly true if Canon could figure out how to do wide on the M2 with an M "L" lens vs adapted EF/EFS. Lets face it normal to wide is all I want small form factor for - as soon as I go telephoto small form factor goes out the window.
Image quality coming out of the APC sensor class continues to improve and for my personal use I suspect with rare exceptions the 4/3rds could service my "imaging envelope" quite nicely - with only a few (star scape/low light) exceptions and could actually expand it in the FPS and other elements.
It is just a darn wonderful time to be alive and have such options. Blessings and peace to all. Hope I didn't bore anyone.

Yes, i really love that lens (also because i didn't have the Kit One no longer! :D). I miss the focus on the last one, however, the effect is appreciable. I was shooting with low light, so i set the ISO on 640 but the pictures didn't really lose anything of my vision. Only love for 60D+40mm f/2.8 STM
Great use of DoF Jamsus to direct ones eye to the subject. I really like the whole series. #3 is likely my favorite with the offset subject set apart by color and focus.
Thank you Kayaker, i'm trying to take away any minute from my office to the fields behind my house to try the new camera... Today i wandered in a place full of thorns for 40-50 shots, from which i obtained just this, but i really like it.
Those "berries" grown in autumn period, and some rain drops were just fallen.

Thanks for the flashbacks, Brant. When I was a kid my folks would take us camping every year to Eastern Slopes Campground in Conway. Moat Mtn is like an old friend to me. Nice to see it again.

You know that "La Fava", here in Tuscany means 2-3 things? The "Fava" is a long bean plant (http://ilgiliforum.com/resim/2013/11...lari_nedir.jpg) this one. very good with cheese!
The "Fava" is also... ehm ehm, the male reproduction organ, and the "Fava" is also a "dumb" person!
;) ;) ;)
Erno,
Amazing maple. Those colors... wow.
Brant, Those falls are very interesting. The autumn colors add so much.

I have a few miscellaneous shots to still process, but the season is definitely winding down here in New England. Overall, a good year for color. They didn't all change at the same time, so no true "peak," but as they turned, several had pretty vibrant color (a few storms/cloudy days messed up the others).
This is a smaller falls, but about 50 yards off Rt 119 in Willard Brook State Park in Massachusetts. Very nice waterfall, especially considering the ease to get to it.

i tried my hand at long exposure water today but wasnt quite equipped for the conditions. i used my 70d with a tamron 17-50 f2.8 at 500mm and f19. i stacked a 3 stop nd filter and a circular polariser . there was aton of clouds in the sky when i left home but after the 40 min drive to the river , they had cleared up. i think it would have been much nicer if i could have gotten a longer exposure but i guess i will just have to get back there on an overcast day and find out.
