I think this guy needs to go on diet!

First one is ISO 400, 5 sec exposure, holding a my old manual flash and shooting through a piece of paper (same for the rest of them), f/36; it has lots of difraction but has the DOF I want, tripod, MD 100mm f/4 macro lens with 2 to 1 ex tube.
The rest use ISO 200 and f/22.
John.

Wow, that is one fat bug.
Totally coincidentally, here's what I shot yesterday, one skinny bug. (You think if they could breed, they'd have normal-sized children?)
Tighter cropping than the one i entered in the 'Wide' assignment, but better detail..

ROLF!
I guess they would be "more normal".
Something a little more elegent.

I had a hell of a time trying to get this guy or gall! Manual focus and at 2 to 1 magnifacation (plus 1.6 crop) is like using a super telephoto lens!
Cheers,
John.

John - Nice butterfly... that would be hard to get with manual focus. With my luck it would fly off just as it was coming into focus.
Franco - Orchids are so colorful. Nice shot at 300mm... they don't let you use a tripod in a conservatory do they?
-
Conropl: They do let visitors use tripods, I guess the staff were just being nice..
