Shot this cricket this morning after the storms rolled through. So he was happy to sit still while I got in close to take a few shots. At full size the head detail turned out pretty good.

I haven't taken too many pictures lately since the Easter Bunny brought a bug to the house. I did take what was left of some dandelions after the massive storms that struck the area this weekend.

taken with 100mm macro usm, kenko 36mm tube and a 1.4x tc.
I haven't had time to do much photography recently, except for the occational family events. But I tested my new "macro" set up lately. That consists of a fd 85mm 1.8 SSC with a 5mm fd extension tube and a fd-EOS converter (with the optics removed). I did not use a tripod this time, but moved slowly back and forth until I was satisfied with the sharpness. 1/160 s and f5.6, adjusted colours and sharpness to fit with my impression of the first day of warm sun (spring is late this year, still below 0 deg. Celcius in the nights).
