No those are actually the headlights of the car I was in. I was on top of a hill in pretty open ground. I prepared the tripod and camera and used a timed remote with an interval(for time-lapse etc). I ran outside the car, placed the camera and ran back in ASAP. I've never seen lightning strike all around me...it was beautiful. But kind of creapy as well [;)] If you look carefully you can see the shadow from the tripod in this picture, because I placed it just in front of the car.
Re: Post your best current shots
Jan,
I really like that lightning shot! I think the headlights lighting up the road really adds to the shot.
What do you think about cropping some of the darkness from the left side of the frame? Is that because the 24mm lens was wider than the headlight angle of view?
I still like it a lot anyway, Great job!

Jan, did you use a ND filter for that shot? It's fantastic!
I was up in northern Minnesota these last two days on Whitefish Lake near Pine River, it's one of my favorite places to be, and after seeing all of your guys fantastic HDR photos, I figured I'd give them a try. So here's my first HDR photo.
Canon T1i, Aperture Priority Mode, f/13, ISO 100, shutter speed was variable. Canon 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens. Handheld.
