Beautiful photo, Pat ...the reflection is really pretty!
Another from yesterday. A lighthouse at sunset is a bit cliché, but it was a nice night and the lighthouse was close by.

Awesome shot Pat, really like the "winter" color tones.
Thanks for the comments everyone. We sure had loads of fun that day and enjoyed it the fullest. Eh...marriage...we'll talk about that later ;) But it's nice to know that I'm only a few tickets away from having the best photographers at my party taking photos for free ;)
Jan: Really like the creative portraits here! What lens did you use for this (I'm guessing a fisheye?)
Pat: Nice lighthouse at sunset, the colors really make it pop.
Here's one I took this evening; I liked how he seemed to be posing...kind of like he is deep in thought.

Stephen
Thank you all for the kind comments.
Sorry... I forget to put down the particulars. The lighthouse was shot with a 7D, 4 sec, f/16, ISO 100, @ 24mm. And yes, there was a GND involved. In fact there were two plus a CPL. I was looking into the setting sun with either the lighthouse in the dark or a washed out sky, and I do not like pulling things out of the shadows in PP with the 7D because it ends up so noisy. So I broke down and added a second GND to tame the sky. So I ended up with a CPL, 0.9 GND, and a 0.6 GND. Unfortunately, it did effect the sharpness a little, and I had to wait for the sun to get low enough to get rid of a nasty flare above the lighthouse.
Stephen - That is a cute little fellow, and such a thoughtful looking pose.
Very cute shot of the baby, Stephen! Something sure is spiking his attention and thought process!
Here's a shot from today. It has been really warm the last couple days so finally able to enjoy more time playing outside!

Thanks for viewing....Brant
Nice photos Brant, my wife and I were planning on visiting DC for the Cherry Blossom Festivial, but she's going to be 7-8 months pregnant at that point and there's going to be a lot of walking around so I'm not sure if that'll be a good time to go.
Brant, all those shots are really spectacular!! Very nicely done!
Here is another crazy photo from me ...

Very cool shot Denise - they really seem to have a good time!
When I got home tonight I saw the (almost) full moon behind some pine branches and a hazy sky. I thought it looked like a nice photo and took out the camera. It did take a combination of three exposures to create something similar to what I saw.

Love the tones in your moonshot cls.
Denise, that is a great winter postcard.
Top shots Brant, the middle one is my favourite, I like the blues.
I like the DC photos Brant. I live in Annapolis, just outside DC and don't get down there enough.
Can you tell I have way too much time on my hands!?

cls - I like the moon with a little fog for atmospher.
Denise - Your dogs are amazing. The dancing in the streets is hilarious.
Brant - I agree with Steve... the middle one is my favorite.
Thanks everyone. Happy you like the shots.
@ James....7-8 months may be pushing it. I've never been there during the Cherry blossom festival, but I hear it is very crowded. The DC mall is great, but there is a ton of walking to see everything. And as for pregnancy, everyone is different. But I can see that being an issue.
@ Denise...love the dogs...that is cracking me up....
@ CLS....very cool shot...well done.
Thanks, Mark! It is three individual shots of the dogs, one background & one frame an action preset to help even out the saturation and exposure.
First off, nice photo of the baby! I used the Sigma 15mm fisheye for my shots. Turns out the effect is pretty funny and also quite easily to correct in PP. Much easier than I expected.
Brant your photos are great. I like the tones in the first one, but the second is my favorite.
Denise, that's a real funny edit, both of them;)
CLS, nice shot of the moon. There's something about the moon that I really like.

Took a few of the sunset over the dunes with frozen Lake in the foreground. All shot with a 7D and 24-105mm f/4 L IS. The first two with 0.9 GND and CPL, and the last with CPL only.

And I seem to remember Steve posted some people kite boarding in the ocean. This is how they kite board on the water around here this time of year.

Really like that pink, or "fire" in the sky Pat.
This is one of the most painful pictures I have ever taken... it was brutally cold out! I like to think of myself as someone who has a bit of tolerance for cold weather, but trying to work the camera at -39 C was a bit of a trick to say the least. We waited for a couple hours before the aurora appeared, and when it did it was fast and furious and then vanished after about 30 minutes.

David, I am liking the rocker shots so far....
Great captures Jan, you'll be tough to beat.....
Thanks guys! Local shows are probably my favorite thing to shoot after nature stuff. Not only to I get to listen to killer music, I get to make a ton of new friends with each show. And the kind of music I listen to, the bands are so animated on stage, I love it. I'll definitely be posting more, I have 400+ shots to go through from this show.
Keep em coming David!;)
As you wish ;)

While not the point of the picture, I like the logo design you made. Very different than what I usually see.
Spring is upon us in southeast Missouri. As you can see, the Spring Peepers are out and mating. The females (bottom) never seem to like photo opportunities, but the males don't seem to mind, which is good, as they hold the females in place while you get your setting where you want them. Unfortunately, I have yet to catch a salamander this spring.
