My new haircut ...aren't I handsome!

He looks very happy with himself, some dogs look violated after a haircut. Short back and sides for Spring.
It looks like it might be warming up for you Denise.
He's just happy to finally be out of the groomers van ...he feels free!!
It is warming up! 40 today but shhhh ...the "s" word is in the the forecast for the next few days!! Say it isn't so!!! [:'(]

Here are a couple of my little runt. She also was recently sent to the groomer. Unlike Denise, I just have her shaved...less maintenance.
Taken with 7D and the newly purchased 24-70mm F2.8 at 2.8. Really liking this lens!

I'm really impressed with the lens camera combo, these are mega compressed and cropped, and still OK i reckon,

Very nice!
Glad to see that someone else gets good use of the 300mm f4L! I got one after my 100-400mm was stolen, as the 100-400mm was just too expensive. (Eventually, I got a Sigma 120-400mm OS lens.) I was very pleased with the color, sharpness, & IS. WIth the Caon 1.4x extender, it goes as far as the 100-400mm and looks at least as good. (The 100-400mm will go further with the extender, of course, but it doesn

Denise, I'm sure your white/brown boy was slimmer in previous photos, but seemed to have done plenty of jumping around in the snow over winter... [;)]
I've always had cats but your dogs do look adorable.
Paul.
@ Steve - Thanks! BTW - That green stuff is white now! I could not believe when I woke up this morning that we had gotten 2" of snow overnight and it is still snowing! This is sure to kill everything in my garden! I even pruned my rose bushes yesterday!

Na San, 8 months and 12 lbs heavier (68 lbs) after we adopted him.

When we adopted him we knew he had heartworm and would need treatment over a 6 month period.....well yesterday we rec'd great news....he's heartworm free!!
Pardon the electrical box in the background....he doesn't like his pic taken and wouldn't hold still in a good area of our backyard....he's concentrating on a squirrel and was ignoring me when I took this pic.
Thanks for looking

Nice image and great job with the dog Bill. Chows tend to ignore you most of the time anyway, don
Thanks Denise and Steve....he's a great dog and he deserved a chance. I'll stop here before I get up on my soap box.
In the 25 years we've been adopting (5) Chows Steve, it's been the (2) females that required the attention, i.e. being near you for some scratchings. Whereas the males just need to be in the same room and you go to them to scratch them....but we know they enjoy our fussing. [:)]
All we did was pay the bill, Na San did the hard work. [:P]
Thanks for looking
Bill
Hi Bill
Late to the story, but great for you guys!! Hard work will always pay off....not sure for who, though!! You or the dog!!
Thought I would post a shot of Rajah, looking her best, actually!!

Gregg, that is a fantastic shot. She looks majestic. Great color and composition. Truly great work in my opinion.
Dave.
Thank you, Dave.
Nice shots, David! They are two awesome looking dogs but if I ever own another, I would love to have one that looks just like Zuni!
Not sure how well everyone knows their breeds, so I'll just mention what she is. She's an Australian Shepherd. The mixed coloring pattern is referred to as a Blue Merle. There are also Red Merles. The merle coloring is genetic, and it's dangerous to breed two merles together. So, you'll breed a merle and a non-merle, and hope that some puppies will be merles. I think there are two or three breeds that get merle patterns, so you may be able to find something more sedate than an Aussie.
In the first week we had her, atleast a half-dozen people ask us where we found a breeder that would let us keep the tail. Most breeders will clip the tails off of Aussies, and in many countries you can't show an Aussie that doesn't have a clipped tail, but we don't care about showing her. So where did we get her? My wife's best friend happens to breed them. She's in Poland, and we're in Canada. Over the New Year's Holidays, my wife flew over to pick up Zuni's brother, changed her mind, and came home with Zuni.

Belger,
That should seriously be a stock photo somewhere. I can see it as an advertisement for happy doggies food, or something. Great shot.
Thanks for sharing.
Dave.
Thx Dave,
I have send this picture to a Dutch stockphoto site, but they said the exposure was to dark.
I like the picture as well, but I see that the next time I have to look more closely. If I had do take it again, I would have removed the collar
Ah,
Its funny, after I posted my first post, I thought I might mention that I thought it was a bit on the underexposed side, but it is their loss right?
Dave.
