+1 on all these comments, great shot Pierre.
I'm always amazed at castles built on hilltops and cliffs like that. A great engineering feat. Thanks for sharing.
Denise, I really like the candle shot!
Keep this ticking along with more of my usual.

Motion blur of a two year old is easy... it's just never intentional. I can't tell you how many shots I've missed. I think it's time to start writing this year's letter to Santa for some faster glass. To get this shot, with the motion of her hand and without the motion of any other part of her meant using the fastest shutter that would still show her hand movement. The best I did was with 1/60th.

The obligatory full moon shot. When I first went out to look, there were fast moving clouds scooting by. I ran in to get my camera hoping to get some clouds in the image, but they were gone when I came back.
In any case, this is the 6D with the 400 5.6 + Kenko 1.4x TC for 560mm f8. AF'd fine. ISO 400, 1/640, handheld. This is a 50% crop, reduced to 1024x768. I continue to be impressed with the IQ from the Kenko 1.4x TC. The fact that it lets the 6D autofocus nicely at f8 is icing on the cake.

That's a good moon shot.

They are considered a subspecies of the White tail deer, and they are believed to be small because of stunting due limited resources on the islands. So yes, they are classified as the same species. However they have been in the keys and small in size since long before people were here so to call them an invasive species is simply incorrect and so would eradication, as they do play a vital role in the local ecosystem. (more info here for anyone interested)
They do tend to spark a lot of debate among people though, an interesting study has been done about this conflict.

Hey all. I literally have hundreds of gigabytes of photos to edit from this trip so far but occasionally I know I've found something special so I edit it straight away instead of waiting until I get through the previous ones. This was a week or so ago on the Côte d' Azure on the Southern French coast, just near Marseille. Anyway, I waited a little while for the sun to play nice as the weather was a bit stormy on this day and this is what I managed to get. :)
Take care everyone. BT

It is a great shot....but what makes it really unique to me is that everything, rocks, clouds, etc, seem to be pointing to the island in the middle. Great leading lines.
Great shot Ben! Did you make it over to the island?
Thanks guys. Unfortunately no we didn't make it over to the island. Although it was probably for the best as the wind was crazy and it was freezing! I liked the way the water and surrounding land framed the island as well, it was a nice spot. Thanks again.
Taken from Duluth, MN in the Canal Park area. Shot was taken at f/4 with a 30 second shutter using 17-40, 6D, and Hoya ND X400 filter.

This is a common wild plant throughout the south. Early in the year it makes a great addition to a salad and there was a famous song written about it. In the late summer it will have bunches of purple berries that attract birds (especially Robins). Can you name it?

A lot of great shots lately... to many for me to keep up with lately. Here are a couple from a few weeks ago that I am just getting around to processing.

I've been spending a lot of time lately looking for bears, without much luck. So I changed gears, and stalked some wildflowers instead.

Playing around with my new Canon 24mm TS-E today. This thing is insanely sharp. I have two trips coming up this summer to Chicago and Boston. Can't wait to make use of this lens in those cities.
