Bob your model was a real pro :p
Great shots.
This female American Robin must have a nest full of chicks, she was gathering worms and May Flies from my yard and looks like she was trying to make as few trips as possible!

Female Eastern Bluebird, she looks like she might be molting?

Attachment 798 Thought I'd throw this one up there. Thanks everyone for helping me learn.
Wow, the downsizing really take the sharpness out. Any hints on how to size/reduce and still retain the sharpness?

Joel, I think you have outdone yourself on this one. Now I love the previous shots with the awesome subject isolation, but this one with a touch of nature in it also is outstanding!
Edit: just notice how thin the DOF was on this shot. Still awesome though.
Joel, Love the comp on this goldfinch shot; The seperation between subject and back ground is outstanding and the background is buttery smooth.....but the quality seems below your normal standards---at least on what I am viewing. The bird seems to lack your normal detail (although the eye is tack sharp) and blown whites in the flowers tend to distract from the subject. Please try and work this shot again--It has the potential to be a "Home and Gardens" cover shot.

Red-tailed Hawk that let me get rather close. 7D & EF 70-300L at 300mm, cropped in to a 7mp frame. (looks better enlarged)

Nothing like the excellent images on this thread but I got a few images of swans and cranes last week when I went to photograph deer :)

I know, he has a stick protruding from his head, but I didn't feel like editing it out.
Eastern Bluebird....there is a nesting pair in my back yard and they are feeding their young now so they are coming to the feeder very frequently.

Jayson, I really like the second one of the Robin---I love it when the you can capture the subject and the natural surroundings, yet still keep the subject the primary focus of the shot. You did that well, here. I also appreciate the effort required for the first shot---I'm guessing you were on your belly in the grass to get that shot:rolleyes:
Nice job on both.

@thekingb - nice shots! Looks like you had a little better luck this time out there! I was there a few weeks ago but it was still pretty empty ...a few cranes, pelicans, ducks and maybe a couple gbh's. I'm hoping to go again in about a month, it should be pretty active by then! I hear the snowy owl is still hanging around out there!
Thanks! It's such a special place. I've seen so many types of duck also -- red head, blue winged teal, pied billed grebe, coot, etc. They're just outside the range of my 70-300, so the shots aren't great. I'm trying for some early morning shots tomorrow. 500mm would be really nice here!

Ok so this was from phone - but a white phase sparrow is not exactly common - it seems to have taken up residence at our local starbucks
