Wow those are both great shots - I particularly like the first one. That's some great bokeh.

Some great shots all around. Loving the flowers from everyone. Here's a few from my latest macro outing.

Dann those are really cool. Really need to get my macro lens out and get in some practice.
Wes,
Awesome shot of the doe and fawn.
I maybe would expose it a ad less than what you have it at now. Im guessing 1/3 or 2/3 of a stop. The highlights look blown to me. But awesome capture for sure.
Also, would like to know the EXIF data if you've got it handy

Nice crisp shot.
Thats very kind of you.

Cool... Eagle?
SMcClaren, I love it. That tight crop really works.

Thanks for all your comments.

OK, I know the white feathers are over exposed, but my accidental timing was perfect!

RBarrz: wat do you use to create that border? It looks nice!
I'll say it was. Very nice!
Any slight technical issues can be overlooked with a shot like that.
First off,cian3307, amazing timing! I love (and hate) when I get an accidental perfectly timed shot. On one of my first ever bird pictures I was randomly lucky with an old Canon AV-1 and caught the bird perfectly in flight. It's on this thread somewhere haha. All in all, nice job :)

-In photoshop, you change the "Background" layer to "Layer 0" or rename it however you would like.
-Then, you add a "Layer Style" to "Layer 0"
-Make sure in the Layer Style dialogue box, that only "Inner Glow" is checked.
-Under the "Structure" heading: Blend Mode = normal, Opacity = 100%, Noise = 0, Check the color square (for lack of a better term) and make sure it is pure black (or whatever color you want the vignette to be).
-Under the "Elements" heading: Technique = softer, Source = edge, Choke =15%, Size = 250px
-Under the "Quality" heading: Contour = a box with a diagonal split going from bottom left to top right. Dark side was on bottom (I was I knew how to put a picture of it here rather than try to describe it). , Anti-aliased = not checked, Range = 46%, Jitter = 0%
Hope this works for you! (You can see why I made it an action rather than do this each time I wanted a vignette!)

I used to do the same thing as posted above but not all pics allow me to use my saved settings so I got edge efx and it works around pic when its close to border I like it alot.
This is just a little something from my garden, yesterday.

I will get on searching in the archives for it.

Great pose, comp, lighting, and background separation. Technically perfect all around.
OK Nate, I'm beginning to suspect that you are training these birds to pose for you[;)]
Yet another masterpiece!
Thanks Dann and Cian,
Cian, no I don't train andpose them, they're robotic and I use a remote control [:)]

The moment I saw the picture, I knew it was yours (without seeing your name at the top of the post). Only you can take such a great bird picture.
It must be wonderful to have access to so many great bird species. Here in ireland, rather a lot of our birds are a bit unexciting, like this fellow below[:(]

That's a great picture actually thanks to the great bokeh. Which lens did you use? Which focal length and which f number?

Caught him again in the same place this April!
