Great pic Denise..............
Nice work Denise.
Hey Brant, you know how pugs are little self conscious about the fact that they don't have a nose. (compared to Denise's dog and my pointy nosed little ones)
Well I was just wondering, if your dog doesn't have a nose.......... how does it smell???
ROFL!
Hey, they may not have noses but boy do they have eyes all the better to see you with! That

Hey Brant, I love pugs, brother bought his over to beat my dogs up on the weekend, lucky mine are good runners.
But the line is(our family pug joke)........... my dog doesn
Something from my back yard again. We have had a bit of a cold spell and the luttle babies have got to snuggle to keep warm.

OMG! I want Brody!! I have owned many beagles and they are a fantastic breed and Brody is absolutely adorable!
I also want your camera/lens combo! What did you use for these shots?
Denise
What a cutie, nice series Don.
Thanks Denise and Steve. Mostly shot with 7d and either 24-015, 70-200 f/ or 300 f/4. He
I have a 7d and have owned every one of those lenses and none of my photos ever looked that good!! Man, I still have A LOT to learn!!
Who are you kiddin, I
Here are some pictures of my dog Erebus
He is a Black Pug / Dachshund mix not a Black Lab

Lovely focus on the pussy cat M six.
Nice expressive images Lancer. See a pug has to be "crossed" to have a nose.
Nobody is more thrilled than me to see this thread taking off more!
Very cute daug (Dachshund/Pug mix), Lancer! I must admit it is the first time I've ever seen that mix ...very cute! At least since he has a nose, he probably doesn't get inverted sneezes!
Denise, if you need more, I update the Adventures of Brody on my web site just about every week.
If he's not on the front page just click the category Adventures of Brody.
My daughter and I just finished looking at every photo posted of Brody and reading all about his life
Thanks Denise, by the way, when the nights start getting cold, I will be traveling to your neck of the woods to shoot the misty sunrises off the lake. Maybe you guys can meet Brody in person.
That would be awesome! We were just down there last weekend for a sunrise with one of my dogs but it was too cloudy.
I checked out Brody as well, what a character. I like your blog and site as well Don.
I thought I would include a headshot of my Akita, Blade. I bred him and kept him, he was a loyal, lovable mutt. I miss him.

Thanks for viewing.
Steve
Beautiful shot of a beautiful dog, Steve! I think you have really found your niche with b&w photos ...you get it perfect every time!
Nice photo
Thanks Steve and nice shot. I understand your loss, still miss my Bailey who was the primary reason i picked up a camera in the first place. Here's Bailey in his prime and in his last days.

Thank you Denise, Wally and Don.
Well composed "new ownership" shot Don. That
Awwww. ...I once had a dog that looked just like Bailey! So cute!
Here's my Buddy! We took the cone off from around his neck and let him run around and be a dog again for alittle while! I probably shouldn't have but it breaks my heart to see that thing around his neck 24 hrs. a day... and I even let him have my sock!

What was the background in this ddt? Was there a white backdrop or did you do that in post?
It was my concrete patio in my backyard. Shading changed very slightly in post to try and even it out more.

Thank you very much, Jayson! I have just started practicing various b&w applications and your thumbs up on this one really means a lot to me!
Not my pet, but it escaped from one of our neighbours (or they released it on purpose) a few years ago, and it's taken up residence in the drain between our block and the neighbours.
I think it's a Bluetongue Lizard, not a sleepy lizard, i'll try get a shot of him opening his mouth one day...

Stupid Cat. These are my first successful (non-plushy) portraits when I was starting out with off-camera flash. The key light is bounced off a white wall to the right, but the hair light is triggered wirelessly.

Beautiful cat pictures! I have a hard time balancing everything when I shoot my black dog but you sure did everything perfect here!
I have been trying to shoot as much as I can this weekend! This shot was taken with one of the lenses that I thought I would put first on my list to sell but after taken this shot which is now one of my favorites ...how can I let this lens go!

I usually have to overexpose the background to get good dur detail, like this one.
