Post your best toy photos
It was a rainy afternoon and I got this VW Beetle 1/24-scale die-cast and took some (about less than a hundred) and picked only four of the best. They are in here. I'll only post one and it will be my favorite shot, of course, but not necessarily the best. :)
I did a quick search if a thread of the same theme exist and I found none.. :) Hope you can send in your toy photos as well.
Here's my share:

AnGelo Chiu,
Those are pretty good toy shots. Clean work and nice lighting.

@ Mark : I kinda missed my tricycle when I saw your pic. :)
Re: Post your best toy photos
I shot 2 images of the RC truck both at 2.8 and focused one on the front portion and one more towards the rear. I then went in with layers and stacked the images where I then pulled out or pushed back the areas of the image that I wanted to control focus. Used this trick that I came up with one night to give me more control over the trucks in and out of focus appearance and produce nicer bluring. Hard to see the true effect on the low res, downscaled image that I uploaded but it gives it that real selective focus look which I feel adds to the toyish appearance. Subtle effect that kind of tricks my eyes personally because some things look slightly off compared to a normally shot image.

I guess you could call it that. I've never seen this or had it explained to me before but I'm probably not the first to do it. Wouldn't that be cool to name something new and have it labeled like the "ken burns effect".
Using the multiple images with different focus points could allow you to give the truck more overall focus over the entire length but then it can allow you to direct viewers attention by directing the focus. can't wait to see what you can do with it.
The VW bug would really look real if you could photoshop under the hood and hide the toyish hinge and then create new ones off to the sides. I bet I could pull it off if you didn't know how to do it.
Re: Post your best toy photos
I like the sound of that! Well done! I gotta try it for myself when I get a chance to shoot again.
Cheers!

I've got the same wheels on my truck... they're 33" high though and Idare say the truck is a little larger too [:D]
That's a great shot, really enjoyed the beetle too Angelo.
