Guess the tracks

My guess--a rock.

Lizard with very small feet and long tail?

Looks like a side-winder rattle snake to me. I very big side-winder rattle snake.

That was my first instinct too, but then I remembered that a sidewinder's tracks don't look like that. Their body skims across the sand leaving two separate impressions on each end of its body as it moves diagonally.


And then I saw the tag too... ;-)

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"]<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"]I was going to keep you in suspense a bit longer but can&rsquo;t do it.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"] It was in fact the tracks from a Goanna, or to be precise a Goulds Goanna (The sand monitor) these little guys eat pretty much anything and can grow over six feet in length.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"] This one was about four feet long and pretty slow, until he saw me, camera shy I think.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"] Thank you all for your participation, hope you enjoyed it. If you look close on the right side you can just make out where he put his foot down.<o:p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"]</o:p>

Yep I know Eidsvold, just a little bit east [:P], I have family in Bargara. Good to see some more Aussies on here anyway. Maybe I don't have to translate from Aussie slang into normal english for all these Northern Hemispherites so much then.
