Post your best Macro shots
Hi! Sorry if this is a repeat, but I didn't find a thread of this nature in my searching. I'll kick it off with two pictures from today.

Rebel XTi, Sigma 150mm f/2.8 @ 5.6 1/100 ISO 400, not quite 1:1, but almost, hand-held.

Rebel XTi, Sigma 150mm f/2.8 @ 2.8 1/500, ISO 100, hand-held 1:1
Don't be technical about macro meaning 1:1 or greater!

Thank you! Getting a hang on this strobist technique. Much thanks to you Sean. You were one of my main inspirations and source of knowledge for getting into strobism.

A shot back from the wildflower season in Anza Borrego (not sure if I ever posted this on TDP before.) This was when I first got into SLR photography and did not know much about controlling DOF. I borrowed the 100mm f/2.8 macro from a friend and just started shooting. Should have shot this at a narrower aperture.

Re: Post your best Macro shots
Here's one from me. Yellow food colouring dropped into blue coloured water. This is a collision of two drops. As the first hits the blue water and bounces back up the second drop collides with it. I did this all by hand (no sound/ IR trigger) so I got about 10 keepers out of about 360 shots this session. The moment is captured by triggering the flash only while the shutter is open in a darkened room. Takes a LOT of patience but it's pretty cool when you get a good one.
40D, 70-200f/4L IS @ f/14, ISO 200, 32mm Kenko extensiontube attached.Shutter set to bulb, 580 exII flash @ 1/128 power.

It's a mushroom! Very nicely done! Indeed, a lot of patience is needed when trying to do water drops by hand. I'd be jumping if I can't get something like this. [:)]

Not as creative as all those above but I was so excited to see flowers had bloomed in my gardent on Friday that I just had to get out the macro lens ...before it snowed Friday night and Saturday!

Found this little guy in the back yard yesterday afternoon. I wanted to get some perspective as to how small he was so I put him in my hand and held it up in the late afternoon light. Looks like a dinosaur on a mission through the desert I reckon!

Re: Post your best Macro shots
Of course mine isn't real macro, since it is nowhere near 1:1, but I guess it just fits in here better than in best nature...
It was really hard to get this bee/wasp whatever it may be, in focus(FF really has great DOF [:D], which isn't always that easy to control)... I used AF and it was hunting a LOT, but then I couldn't use MF because it was flying to inaccurate...sigh, it gave me a hard time, but I like the end-result!

I shot it over a month ago w/ my 7D & 100mm L IS macro but yesterday, it was 100 degrees outside so I was just messing around with a few editing programs. I did this one with Picasa. It figures that out of all the ones I've purchased...this came out of a free one!

Re: Post your best Macro shots
I have been really into macro recently. I am taking my tubes on the trip today to see if I can get a little closer to the butterfly.

Re: Post your best Macro shots
I wouldn't call this one of my 'best' macro shots, but I found the subject interesting - seeing this little fungus (about 1 cm in diameter) immediately suggested a particular Florida landmark...
