Thought some of you might get a laugh out of this one. Ben.

Uh, sir. The other way, you'll never get a shot like that!
LOL,
John.
He looks thrilled to be there. I'm guessing some sort of figure skating event (looks to me like an ice rink). Maybe he thought it was Stanley Cup semifinals before he arrived.
It's just a Nikon mind-meld! "Our minds are one....don't ever buy a Canon!!"
What do you think it is that this guy doesn't get? He clearly understands that, as a Nikon shooter, he is the most important and photo-worthy person at any event. However, his grasp of the concept of minimum focus distance is a little weak (or Nikon lenses are somehow able to defy the laws of optical physics... [:P]).
routine shutter speed check
I do that when im bored... just sayin'... i shoot canon
I'm sure I've seen that guy at Cloncurry. [:P]
I think I've got it, he is determining a technical problem with his camera. I always new I made a good choice going with Canon....[:D]
John.
Just a moment before he was shaking his camera to remove dust from his sensor.

Manual focussing and now looking into infinity [A]

I wonder if had a bunch of red marks on his forehead from the hood. Drinking and photography not a great mix...
He's using it as a wide-angle. Like binoculars, a backwards telephoto works as a wide-angle. [A]
Perhaps the image quality is so soft that he can use it as a pillow [:P]
Might be the new Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 travel mug, holds so much coffee you need a tripod to drink out of it. He's just checking that he got every last drop. [:P]

Haha it does too. I don't know what's better, a Canon coffee mug or old School Rick Astley!
"Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you dooooown..." [H]
Haha sorry I just had to do that [A] Nothing beats a good old-school Rick Astley [:P]
Here's the valid link: http://canonmugs.com
Hello to everybody!
Does anybody know if the extenders are available for mugs too? [:)]
Alex.
Haha I'm afraid not. I believe these mugs were originally given to photographers at the olympics in Canada.
Oh and if the extenders exist...they would make great expresso-mugs [B]

All the previous posts here were from Canon-lovers...
However, when I showed this shot to Nikon-lovers, I've got the following comments:
a) "... it is a self-portraiture"
b) "... typical Macro shot with Nikon"
c) " ... didn't you know Nikon switched from finger-print access approval to iris scanning?"

I can often be found staring into my 85L like that so I will not pick on the Nikon user. Although, I doubt that lens is as spectacular as the 85L.
