First *shot* when I got home. You can never forget your first one...LOL!
I shot no less than 3 self-portraits this week while testing out different things. The following ended up my favorite (a test of the 20" parabolic reflector I recently acquired). Yes, I know it's distracting that you can see the reflector in my glasses...but I liked it anyway. :-)

Garret, very nice shots! I know 85mm 1.8 can make really great quality pictures, but the Tamron 70-300mm? very very impressive.

I ran around manual focusing, chasing bugs and butterflies & I was lucky to get those two that nicely. But since I don't own a real macro it's what I have to work with.
Pretty much the Tammy is only good for macro work.

Hey...new to the site here. Awesome stuff!
I went to a show in Berkeley, CA, last Sunday and got these. Most of them suck, but I'm pretty happy with a few.
All taken with a 7d, Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8.

John, that's a great picture! I have seen a couple of those in my area, but am always too far away. Great capture.
Trav, that is a nice shot also. One for the photo frame!
Scott, maybe up the iso on the 7D. That baby handles high iso pretty well and with a 2.8, you should still be able to get a good shutter speed. They are good pictures don't get me wrong, but with higher iso, getting a little less motion blur...they could be awesome. Best of luck.
