That's pretty cool to see.
I had a vehicle convoy pass me the other day with a heavy police escort blocking traffic for free passage of a military van and a couple Suburbans filled with men in suits (presumably Secret Service). I later learned Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was in town. I didn't have my camera nor would any pictures been noteworthy. He was in a van similar to a delivery service van with windows. Pretty low key and boring for such an obvious procession going down the road.

banman1....very cool to get to see it and good pics.
Although I first looked at this on my phone, when I got home I was less impressed with the pictures. See there are several of these planes. Even when they travel they go with decoys. I thought it was two different planes. On my phone the resolution was not such that you could tell they were two different pictures. I was asking myself why would the one be flying so close over the one taking off.......
Sean and Keith: If Carter added peanuts, I wonder what Clinton added (and would it be appropriate for a family forum)
Re: something you dont see everyday....
Clinton added a smoking section...and that

I agree...I don't think we need to elaborate more.....[6]

Wow, what a sight!
HDNitehawk, I though the same - I thought this was a composite of two seperate shots (or the Air Force One pilots were just performing stunts today? [;)]).
Cool shots.
Re: something you dont see everyday....
well for arround 1-1/2 this plane and a smaller white jet just keep doing touch n goes at dover... i found out later that obama was in philly today so i gues this probally was one of the decoys...allthough when i first set up to take picts 4 state cops and a black unmarked went by me lol... i was texting my wife at same time and told her i might need bail for me and my 3 year old..we then drove up closer to the runway only to see the cop cars parked in the field across from runway with 4 bomb sniffin dogs all walkin in field and 2 guys with binoculars looking allover there were also some military cops driveing arround and walkin the inside of runway fence...once airforce 1 left all the cops left to and it was back to business as usuall at dafb...so anyway it was still cool to see one of the jets and i wonder if they still have good penuts lol........

An on board dry cleaner.
Re: something you dont see everyday....
Well, LBJ never went on a AF-1 without a case of Root Beer.
I rember when Boeing was contracted to cleanup wiring diagrams for one of the AF-1 planes, a 707. A auxiliary power unit had been installed by a furniture company with no aircraft experience(government buyer saving money). The plane could not be certified because there were no proper drawings or documentation, so it could certainly not carry the president.
We were sent a copy of the electricians notes scribbled on the aircraft drawings and asked to quote creating a real set of drawings. They were pretty much unreadable, so this meant tracing out the actual circuits and verifying them on the aircraft, which had to be done by the military on a wire by wire basis.
We made a copy of the drawings and provided a quote based on our best guess, but it was apparently too high so they just parked the plane, maybe looking for a bargain bidder!. Then, the furnature company burned down and all the records with it. We had the only set in existense filed away with the quote. It took a year, on the phone every day checking out the modifications wire by wire to figure out what had actually been done. I
