It's warm and wet here, so I chased birds again this week. This is a shot of the baby plover, that is being raised in my yard. They are very protective birds and will take on anything. This little one stays right in between his mum and dad. Until a moth flew by eratically and he just chased the moth all over the place. Would have been a good video.

This is the dad plover guarding the chick, as usual. Haven't been able to let the dogs out in the big yard as they will no doubt try and chase the chick. I'm allowed out in the yard, my chick chasing days are over. But it's been to wet to mow here, so the grass is growing and the birds are loving it. I have to try and hide in the bushes as they are camera shy.

Thanks. I actually took a bunch of shots using spot metering on the duck too; however, the little guy kept turning around. So the only good frontal shot I had on him was with average metering. I guess it kind of gives a little silhouette type of a feel.
I love how your plover pictures tell the whole story of their photoshoot! You can tell by the leaf frame that you are spying on them cautiously : )

This is a Canadian goose, but he seems to have something wrong with his feathers. My thought is he was the old guy of the flock. [:P]
Top two taken with 100mm macro, 3rd the 50mm f1.4 and last 70-200f4L IS + Kenko 1.4xTC.

Well, the other day when I was going to work, I saw this raccoon on the side of the road on the exit of the highway. I pulled over and went up to it. I took a few photos (below) and then put my foot on it and found it was extremely frozen. Must have been there a while! I hope this doesn't sound too morbid, but I thought it looked very beautiful in a way. These shots are all unedited:

Your bio shows you live in France and in these photos you say your on your way to work and their tagged Madison, Wisconsin ...that's quite the commute you have every day!! If you would have traveled alittle further south, I would have bought you a beer and explained how we don't take photos of road kill down here in SE Wisconsin! [:P]
He does look pretty peaceful in that second photo though!
