Internet Explorer 9 and Firefox 4 Issues
Being an early adapter leads to problems sometimes - I unfortunately installed both of these updates on the same day. [:)]
Here is a bulletin from our forum software company:

As a social community software company, we understand our customers' desire to move to the latest and greatest innovations in technology; however, we also want to make sure that we fully test these innovations before recommending them for use with the Telligent Evolution platform. Our product development team is in the process of evaluating Internet Explorer 9, and we will provide support for it in our May hotfix for Telligent Evolution. Although not recommended, customers can run Internet Explorer 9 now in compatibility mode. Instructions for doing so can be found here.
Early testing of the release candidate for Firefox 4 did not result in any significant issues; however, Telligent will not evaluate it as a candidate for support until its development is complete and we test the final version. As a reminder, the Telligent Evolution platform provides broad support for multiple browsers including Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox 3. A full list of recommended and supported browsers can be found here.

My apologies for the inconvenience - I'll try to resolve the related problems when that update becomes available. This post is being made via Chrome - it appears to work properly.

Safari 5 is fine, too. So I guess Google will have to split the world with Apple. Oh, wait...I think thay already have!

I checked out IE 9 and noticed a few minor issues but didn't think anything of it.
I
noticed some mouse issues before upgrading to FF4. E.g. the cursor
would disappear or move to the top. Additionally, you can't cut and past
with a click of the mouse, or correct your spelling.
One thing that has been more of an issue is that I can only post
replies to a thread when I use rich formatting. Otherwise when I click
reply, I'll get the text window to enter my text but no Post button.
FYI, Any compatibility problems they might have with Tangent and the
Community Server are mild compared to another forum I use that also
uses Community Server. (astronomy.com).

Chrome here, too. No problems. :knocking on wood:

Based on other's comments, I downloaded and installed Google Chrome---wow, what a dissapointment---now nothing works---I can open and read the communty entries on TDP, but nothing else. No "reply" button, no RTF link, not even a cancel link. On top of that, all of the responses are in the opposite order that I have selected on TDP. Google has a long way to go before they get my vote---still one IE fan out there--even if its IE8.
Bob
P.S. Had to post this using IE. Uninstalling Chrome for the second time now.
Have you tried Firefox yet?

Hi Bryan...
I'm experiencing the same issues, in particular via the *Use rich
formatting* option. Just now I am unable to post an entry without
obtaining the *Stay on Page or Leave Page* warning via IE9, however;
Opera seems to function fine.
Yes, i noticed too some malfunctions. And i noticed them 1 or 2 month ago, when i was using FF 3.6.*.
Cursor dissapears in rich formatting.
Color of text sometimes is gray by default and it is hard to change it.
And some text in the posts looks out of bounds and looks mixed with web page parts.

This has been my experience, too. VERY surprised to hear of Bob's issues with Chrome. I use it everywhere, on every machine I come into contact with at work or at home, and have never seen this stuff.
Re: Internet Explorer 9 and Firefox 4 Issues
Thanks for the feedback everyone.
Rocco - I hope your boss doesn't read this thread! [:)]But thanks for the information.
IE 9 compatibility mode seems to work fine - thanks for that suggestion.
I do have access to a Windows server, so ifI can locate the hotfix, I can apply it.

I've always used Ad Blocker Plus for FF and still do in FF4. I did have to download the latest version when I upgraded to FF4.
As far as the disappearing cursor goes, I found that if you click outside the text editor and then back in it again the cursor will reappear. Other problems such as Cut and Paste with a click of the mouse isn't really a problem because you also have the Copy, Cut and Paste buttons(icons) available with the browser. All you have to do is customize your tool bar and put them there. And lastly the Firefox spell check probably doesn't work because the spell checker in the text editor here does. The spell checker here might not work automatically on the fly but it still works. Other than that I've found FF4 is still faster than IE9. and IMHO better than Chrome. I tried Chrome before and didn't like it, maybe it was too simplistic and still incompatible with other web sites and functions I use regularly.
