I just bought PS CS5 & Lightroom 3 and I can't install either one!

Even though my system meets all the requirements that it says I need, I am getting errors while trying to install the programs! I have a call into Adobe to call me back but are they going to charge me $39.00 to speak to me!?


This really is a horrible nightmare that I have no clue how to solve! Obviously the programs aren

What types of errors are you getting? Type them out here.

I have called Adobe before and found them very helpful at no charge.

I'm not about to do a complete restore. Everything on my computer is working flawlessly except for being able to install these two programs that I just bought today. Elements is even working fine.

I did have some difficulty when I went from Vista to Windows 7 a few months ago and when I went from elements 8 to elements 9 but no problems since.


I was on the phone with "Saqib" for about 45 mins. he connected to my computer, tried something that didn't work and we "conveniently for him" were disconnected via phone and then he disconnected the computer connection. At the beginning of the call, he took down my phone number is case we were disconnected, but he never called back! So much for customer support!

Maybe your daughters are getting you a Mac for Mothers day and this is all for not:)

I retried and retried and finally was able to install Lightroom 3 but still no luck getting past the errors for PS.

I must admit, that's not an error I recognize. Now if it had ended in 0x80070025, well, that just requires a restart... :-)

Out of interest I did a quick search for the Error 1935. The internet says you've experienced this error in the past with an Adobe product (http://community.the-digital-picture.com/general_discussion1/f/24/t/5390.aspx), did you ever solve the issue?


A lot of the info on the internet mentions .NET. Does anyone know if the Adobe Windows product installers are .NET based?

@ cfnz - With Elements 9, I had to reinstalled version 8 on my computer and then 9 installed smoothly and has been working with no problems.


I refused to give up on trying to installing PS CS5, so VERY late last night I uninstalled Picasa on my computer and then tried one last attempt to install PS and it installed with no problems! So I guess there was something in that program that was causing conflict(?)

Did you install a Windows 7 "Upgrade" over Windows Vista, or did you do a completely new clean install of Windows 7?
