Come clean if you had to Google it, please?

I call it "pretty"... :) Great shot, Steve!
In the games industry we always called them "God Rays". No idea what anybody else calls them.
Damn, that's exactly what I was going to say.
And coincidentally, I shot some like that this morning too (I was already late for work so what's wrong with another 5 mins taking a photo on the way?)
Those things have always reminded me of either a Bugs Bunny cartoon, think the 'What's Opera Doc' scene with the rays shining down on the fat horse. Otherwise I half except a foot to come down out of them and step on something...
Spot on John, good work. I still like pretty though.
+1 for "pretty"
I also call it "irritating", because the camera never has the dynamic range to capture this in its total full glory.
I call it Luck combined with a skilled photographer to create a beautiful shot!:)
Agree with all the others, but where you looking for sunbreak? http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunbreak
Google did help https://www.google.com/search?q=sun+...iw=320&bih=343

Thank you all for your comments and input.
Crepuscular rays are rays of light radiating from a single point and appear mostly through gaps in clouds at sunset and sunrise. They can be red or yellow or just bright rays shining down or penetrating a cloud. There endeth...
I only became aware of this in the last month, so I thought I would share the love, or knowledge in this case.
I call them Steve Almighty Rays! these are killer buddy.
I had one remark on a flickr image of mine with similar rays, "great Jacob's Ladder!" so now i call these thingies JL Rays.
