Another installment of the "Post Your ****" threads! Guidelines are pretty strait forward for this one, post any photo of your beloved pet. If you're like me, your pet is a prime subject to play around with to test a new lens, lighting, or anything to practice photo techniques ect ect..

I suspect that my "pets" are a bit larger than most folks--together, they weigh over a ton--at least 2200 lbs.

Maestoso Tacoma, aka "Titus," (or, affectionately, "The Short, Fat Grey Horse") Lipizzan gelding, about 7 years old at the time. He's not very tall--14.2h, but quite "robust"--weighs roughly 1100 lb,
almost as much as the other horse below, who is 7-8" taller and not skinny.

"No Name" (that's correct)-the "Tall Orange Horse," a SwedishWarmblood x Thoroughbred gelding, about 16.2h, about 22 years old at the time. Notice the difference in proportions, including their heads. Titus has a "Roman nose"--he's the Jimmy Durante of the stables. No Name's head is actually smaller than "normal," compared to his body, but he has very long legs. I've said that he has the body of a 16h horse, the legs of a 17h horse, and the head of a 15h horse: he was assembled out of spare parts.

This is my dog Zeke. Most people have pictures of their pets running or doing something active. Zeke just sleeps and eats.

When I was trying to dig out the pictures of my dog (there're a couple good ones I remember), I found I lost them all... They're all in one folder but I think I may have deleted them due to a recent system reinstall...[:'(]
Ok, this is my rescue Chester who loves to sleep with my husband in his big chair at night. I am only learning, these are my first pictures with SLR when I was "trying" to think what I was going to do rather than just using it like a hammer. Of course, I did not get exactly what I wanted. But the human legs in picture ARE intentional here, wanted to show the two buddies together. I just am not sure how to get them more blurred at the same time, would that have something to do with focus point? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am not quite sure how to get that composure thing ...

Nice shots, everyone. I think some of you need to frame your shots a little wider. As humans, we tend to focus in on the eyes & face.However, pets speak to us with their whole body--posture, wagging tail, etc.
This shot tells the story of a very old Rhodesian ridgeback boxer mix who had learned over the years that a Christmas tree means new toys.He had also learned that ripping into his presents early was bad, bad, bad-dog! So, herehe is checking hisplush toyfor the 100th time, knowing that he can't have it yet--thus the droopy tailat half-mast. He's depressed, buthopefulanticipation keeps his tail from goingall the way down.
This old friend is gone, but not forgotten, as ismy oldOlympus Camedia C-4040that that I used to take this shot. It got mehooked ondigital photography,lead me to my first DSLR(20D), and final retirement of my ancient AE-1.
