#56 Two Colors

On behalf of John (Neuroanatomist) I would like to announce assignment 56: "Two Colors"

We are looking for images with two dominant colors. Multiple hues of each color is fine, as are shadows and highlights. Subject matter can be anything.

Great idea for an assignment. I feel like I'm cheating when I dig into the archives, but this shot immediately came to mind when I saw the topic: Sunset on the Bow River, Canmore, June 2010. I will keep this as my entry, unless I come up with something original in the next couple of weeks.

I just realized that I already enter my aurora shot in the weekly assignments (sorry I forgot). It does not seem appropriate to enter it here as well... so I withdraw my entry in this assignment. Hopefully I find something else to shoot; but for some reason,this has not an easy one for me (maybe I am taking it to literally).

Wow ! The finalists really made it difficult for us to choose. Congrats everyone.

Wow, they sure did! It's a tie! I'll ask John to make the final decision. Anyways congratulations to all of you!

It was hard enough to select the finalists from among the excellent submissions, and now I have to pick a winner from a 3-way tie in the voting? Sometimes life isn't fair...

I'm going to go with Andy's flamingo as the winner - I like the contrasting colors and the symmetry despite the juxtaposition of the curving shapes on one side with the angles on the other.

Really tough choice and congrats to everyone!

Well, John, if you don't want to judge you shouldn't have entered such good shots in previous assignments. Thanks for picking the flamingo and I echo your congratulations on the high standard from others too.
