2015 Image of the Week #39

Welcome to TDP forum's "Image of the Week" competition. Each week photographers may submit their images to compete for the title of "Image of the Week." Weekly winners will then compete on a monthly, quarterly and finally in an annual poll for the title of "TDP Image of the Year."

There will be only one weekly winner.

• This entry period for Week 39 will be from Monday September 21st through/including Sunday September 27th.
• Please supply a title for your image.
• This is an open competition for landscape, portrait, architectural, macro and any other appropriate photographic style.
• Images should have been either recently taken or processed.
• Enter as many times as you would like.

"Kananaskis Valley" -- a view from our ridge walk hike today. The larch trees are at their peak colour, as their needles turn golden and then eventually drop off.

Okay, each picture was very good this week and I have had a difficult time deciding. I am going to go with David's "Sunset Moment". Zach, I love dogs and the puppy was very cute. Andrea, the catch of the dove in that field was very cool. I like the DOF of that photo. Jonathan, that is definitely something I would blow up huge and hang on my wall, it looks amazing (my honorable mention). Joel, I really like what your doing with the infrared work. I really liked your composition. Sean, great portrait as usual. Beautiful lighting. I chose David's photo because it was beautifully thought out and composition with the sunset really made the photo. It is a photo that brought sense of feeling of my younger days when I looked at it. The rim light on Dad's head in the picture to separate it from the background was a nice added touch. Great photos this week. That was a tough one!

edit: Oh, but the rim light is on Mom's head. Dad is taking the photo. ;)
