2022 Image of the Week #35

Welcome to TDP forum's "Image of the Week" competition. Each week photographers may submit their images for the title of "Image of the Week." Weekly winners will then compete on a monthly, quarterly, and in our annual poll for the title of "TDP Forum Image of the Year."

• Week 35 entry period will be from Monday, August 22nd through/including Sunday August 28th.
• Please provide a title for your image.
• This is an open competition for landscape, portrait, architectural, macro, or any other appropriate photographic style.
• Images should have been either recently taken or processed.
• Enter as many times as you would like.

San Galgano, Siena

The abbey formed around the site of the former hermitage of Galgano Guidotti (San Galgano), and construction of the church began around 1220, and was completed some six decades later. The abbey grew in wealth and became allied with the Republic of Siena. Monks from the abbey routinely served as Camarlinghi di Biccherna, E.G. as high magistrates of the main financial institution of the republic.

Tough choice this week .... all the entries have nice features but the one I keep coming back to is Karsaa's Thor is Speaking. The texture in the clouds is awesome and capturing several well defined bolts of lightening creates a scene that simply over the top. Congrats !!! Fabulous image.....I see only one issue with it ..... it's not mine:cool:

Ty ty. Spent all night watching with friend. Once started looking pictures the looks of the cloud was something i haven't seen before.
